Next up on our Meet Us Monday series is Reatta Tate! We asked her a few questions about her experience working at the Convention Center.
1. How long have you worked here? “Almost 40 years.”
2. What is your favorite feature of the Convention Center? “It’s hard to say one thing that I love about this place because I love everything. I have loved seeing the evolution of the building, watching the employees grow, and growing myself. Year after year, I get to form stronger relationships with our clients and work with great people who feel like family.”
3. What do you like best about OC? “I love nature and when I drive into Ocean City, I can feel the energy change. Smelling the crisp air and being surrounded by beautiful natural wonders is part of what makes it so special to people who visit here time and time again.”

"Watching repeat customers come back year after year and watching their groups continually grow."

"The variety of activities that the town offers! Such as movies on the beach and Sundaes in the Park."

We started our sustainability journey when we partnered with GoGreenOc back in January- here’s how it’s going! We have switched to all compostable materials for our concessions and started composting food waste from events held here saving hundreds of pounds of food waste from going into landfills. Help us and join in the fight towards a more sustainable future!

1. How long have you worked here? "1 year"
2. What is your favorite feature of the Convention Center?
"It's ability to house all different types of events. Whether it be an 800-person event in the Performing Arts Center, a 2500-person cheerleading competition or an outdoor event such as Cruisin' OC or OC Bike Fest, it truly is a welcoming building for anyone who enters it."
3. What do you like best about OC?
"The strong local base of people that this town offers. Watching them come together in people's time of need is something that I watch happen often and it makes me proud to say that I work in Ocean City, MD."
