Hi, My name is Andrea Levitan. I graduated from Avila University in 1998 with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Kansas and Missouri. In addition to psychology I am very passionate about exercise and hold a National Certification as a Personal Trainer. My approach to wellness is to treat the whole person by blending exercise (walking or resistance traini
ng), nutrition and counseling into one session. My specialty is marriage, children and family, as well as divorce, relationships, body image and depression. I have found from personal experience and psychological research that exercise helps reorganize the brain to be more resilient under stress. DO NOT GIVE UP! Being happy is inside you but you have to dig it out. You can invest in yourself and find that strong, healthy, vivacious person. The Process
What’s your story? Everybody has one and while we walk and talk you will release endorphins, which allow your body and mind to be more at ease. The process of discovery will be more fluid and it is often easier to get to the source of our problems. Achieving your goals will also happen more quickly when you are relaxed and physically fit. The goal
Help you begin the movement process and at the same time motivate you to find a happier life. Take Note:
Taking at least a 30 minute walk each day can be as effective as taking medication for depression and anxiety. Walking and talking treats self-esteem, improves confidence, increases energy and improves sleep. The rhythm of walking releases unconscious thoughts and reverses negative emotional patterns. Walking and talking can be less intimidating than face-to-face office sessions. Walking quiets the mind and relieves anxiety.
15 minutes of sunlight reduces the intensity of depression. Vitamin D is absorbed as you walk, naturally treating emotional distress. Walk Therapy treats the whole person, mind, body and spirit — giving you access to your authentic self.
