I was testing a neutral density filter on my camera in preparation for the eclipse. Notice the sunspots at about the 4:00 position. Kind of fun.

Well, no airshow photos this year! The runway was under two feet of water. Even the parade had to be cancelled due to the damage the tornado did to Jefferson City. Wishing them the best.

Yesterday's storms broke at just the right time for this spectacular sunset and double-rainbow!

Yesterday, the storms broke for awhile just at sunset. These were shot both with my main camera and my iPhone (I shot with the iPhone first, then realized my full camera was with me in the back seat). I really loved these shots.

It was a beautiful night at the Lake of the Ozarks. I decided to take a few shots. I tried to do some star photography, but the anti-noise was too high. The moon came up just as I was changing it, so I backed off - that's for another night.

Tonight we had a beautiful sunset, so I wanted to try some new techniques to capture it. Using an automated gimbal, I tried to get a time lapse with a slow pan. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy for a first attempt. I'm including some of the best shots, since this sunset had so many facets.

There was a terrific thunderhead to the southeast of Columbia tonight. Radar showed it east of Jefferson City. It was gorgeous. Here are several shots (later I went to HDR) taken as the sun set, along with a radar shot to show what I was looking at.

I was taking pictures of a home, and I noticed the little critters around me, so just for fun I took these shots.

This was also just for fun. This crane was flying by, so I tracked him for quite awhile. By the time I was done with this video he was probably around a half-mile away. When I stopped the video and looked up, he was just a dot in the sky.

I saw these boys getting ready to throw these rocks into the lake, so I set up slo-mo again. I thought it worked really well here.

I was also playing with the slow motion. These flags were lashing about in the wind; with the slo-mo they almost look like they're lazily flapping.

Went out to shoot just for fun and to get better familiarized with the new camera. I did a mix of video and stills. No agenda, just a couple of hours to relax. This one was tough to keep still, since the loon was about 1/4 mile away and the wind was strong (and I left my tripod in the car).
