Spider rescue: return to the desert. This guy, a male desert tarantula needed to be out of the parking lot to avoid being ran over and not worry about climbing the curbs. Luckily he did not launch any of the hairs off of its back or do any biting.

This bird was wandering around Badwater Basin starting to show signs of lethargy and it hitched a ride under a car and I watched it drop out of the bumper at Artist's Palette. Much worse for wear, we got it on the tour van to cool off and relocate to Furnace Creek.

Step out of Vegas far enough on a clear night and ye shall be rewarded. This Google long exposure time lapse something or other with pixel astrophotography mode nets a nice little video. How many shooting stars can you see?
