Central's A.A.S.U. (African American Student Union)

The African American Student Union is one of Central's oldest clubs. Throughout the years, it has been known by many names, i.e.

Black Student Union, Afro-American Student Union, etc. The goals of the club include providing opportunities for Central High School students to participate in academic and cultural activities, community events/service (i.e. tutoring, mentoring, raising funds for a cause, etc.), and programs that recognize the contributions of people of African decent. While most of the activities focus on the

African American experience, AASU invites and encourages students of all races, ethnicity, religions, and genders to become members.
