I saw this on my drive home from work!! To many who have lived here their whole lives, it may just be a "typical day", but for me It blows my mind how insanely beautiful the Hoh Rainforest in Washington is! Moving from Kansas has absolutely changed my life! 🤯😍

These majestic Elk came walking out of the moss draped rainforest one by one, the baby led the way, and the adults followed! The bulls hung back staying well hidden waiting for the right moment to cross themselves!

I sat there in my car in awe as these giant creatures walked in a line right in front of me, with a beautiful lush green backdrop. Seeing this gave me a special appreciation for working in the feild of forest restoration 💚🌲

I am already in love with the scenery here, but to find out that I can see things like this on the regular completely surprised me 😍 I don't think I will ever find a better place to live than the Olympic Peninsula 🥰

Stories from the house:
We have had the nicest guests.
One of my favs-

The guests were upset the TV didn’t work.
But then said they figured it out and it was them.
Brother blaming sister! Hahaha

This was told to us after the fact.

But they had breakfast together at the large table as a family and talked instead of TV.

They have decided no TV during meals and feel reconnected to each other.
They felt blessed.
I thought I’d start sharing some of our favorite memories.

We made Super Hosts again - we have been the entire time we've been open. (2018)
Thanks to our amazing guests.
Our amazing Port Angeles Dream Playground is also on the mend. We're very excited about that to.
We have guests come just to be close to this park.

Port Angeles made the list as one of the "Best Small Towns to Visit Across America".

"Port Angeles, home to about 20,000 residents, sits right outside Olympic National Park, where visitors can enjoy ocean views, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Entrance to the park costs $30 a vehicle for a weekly pass. Visitors can also head to the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center to visit Webster's Woods Art Park, an outdoor area where artworks are hung from trees and hidden in the foliage. Admission is free.

Don't miss: Salt Creek Recreation Area offers dramatic views of Crescent Bay and the Strait of Juan De Fuca, plus camping year round."

Our beloved park next to Elliott House was burnt to the ground.
What a horrible cowardly act which has cost our entire town.
My heart is broken- Hopefully it will get rebuilt as families that stay with us have loved this park.
Seeing all the kids and families play has been joyous.
I try and keep this page as joyful as possible- but this is heartbreaking.
Several calls to us ( thank you ) and a sleepless night.
