After we launched the first-ever scholarships last year it renewed our belief in the power of travel. So this year, we’ve increased the scholarship to $5,000 for 5 applicants who have had minimal travel experience.

Morocco holds a special place in our hearts. It was one of our earliest TrovaTrip destinations, and the first place where we worked with a trip Operator to provide a local Guide — something that became a cornerstone of the TrovaTrips you know and love today.

Since the devastating earthquake hit, we’ve been in close contact with Intrepid Travel. They’re our local partner on-the-ground in Morocco (yes, the same ones who provided that first local Guide), and we’ve been reminded so many times the past week of how fortunate we are to work with them. We’ve seen them taking care of their people, managing and navigating shifting itineraries, and advocating for what the local community wants and needs in the wake of disaster. They even launched an emergency relief fund in partnership with the High Atlas Foundation and Education for All. We hope that when looking for a trustworthy organization with deep roots in Morocco, you’ll consider giving to the Intrepid Foundation (https://www.theintrepidfoundation.org/ ). Whatever support you can give to the people of Morocco is greatly appreciated.

And as for travel to Morocco — we know there is a lot to process, and as always, we prefer to take our lead from the local community and their experts when it comes to the best next steps. Your sign to immerse yourself in Thailand's cuisine has arrived and ⭐ surprise ⭐ it's filled with papaya and love. Follow the organic farming journey from soil, to seed, to kitchen and feast your eyes on the fruits of your labor... or you know, maybe some of this Som Tam. 🤤 Save this post, grab these ingredients and make your own Som Tam at home: 1 small to medium green (unripe) papaya, julienne and soak in ice water for 10 min 2 cloves garlic, peeled Thai chilies, to taste ½ tsp raw sugar or white sugar 2-3 long beans, trimmed and cut to 2in 3 TBSP dry-roasted salted peanuts, more for garnish 1 TBSP dried shrimp 2 TBSP fresh lime juice and zest to taste 2 tsp tamarind juice 1 1/2 TBSP fish sauce, to taste 8 grape tomatoes, cut in half Lettuce for serving (optional) Mash the sugar, shrimp, lime juice, zest, tamarind juice and fish sauce in a mortar and pestle until it becomes wet and pastey. Add the garlic, chilies, beans and peanuts and pound until the beans are just broken and there are no more big chunks of garlic or chilies. Add the papaya and tomatoes and toss, slightly crushing as you go.
