The Gingerbread House will be decorating again and we are open to photographers that might be interested in renting the cabin for a couple hours on weeknights for sessions. Decorations go up on 12/2. We’re also open to hosting gatherings at the cabin if anyone is looking for a space to have a small holiday event. We can accommodate up to 20.

We decided to take a long day trip to Arkansas on our last visit to the cabin. The plan was to take Talimena Drive to Mena to hunt for waterfalls and swimming holes. We started at Cossatot River State Park and ended up spending our entire day there. The park roads have beautiful views through pine forests and connect to all sorts of great stopping points. It was peaceful with clear running water. Our family had the place to ourselves for the whole day. Water shoes, sunscreen, food and drinks are recommended.

Lake Wister State Park has all the things and it’s about 20 minutes from the cabin. The park is peaceful and never feels crowded which is what we love about it. There is mini golf and a huge splash pad, plus swimming areas around the lake. Southern Drift Lake Rentals Wister Lake can help you with a kayak rental for the day.
