Texas Sandfest, Port Aransas Texas. Sandfest, held in Port Aransas, should be on a lot of folks bucket list. You can't imagine what an artist can create with some sand, water and a few select tools. This sea turtle was about 8' high, with detail to die for. Toss in some warm sunrise light from the left and this is what it looked like. This year, Sandfest was held last weekend, I'm guessing it's about the same time every year. Go visit Port A, they have miles of beaches, the Gulf of Mexico, a ton of birds and a lots of food and beverage options.....

Detour

White Pelicans, Aransas Bay, Fulton Texas. Last night we got takeout for dinner. Close by, near Fulton Harbor. As Jonnie and I were on our way we were marveling about how much pink there was in the sky and how beautiful it made the water look. We came to a stop sign and what do we see but 3 white pelicans perched on a rock outcropping! Oh heck yes, we're gonna be a little late picking up our food. I keep the long lens at the ready so it took no time to squeeze off some shots, then move the car a little and take some more. Oh yeah, there was a great egret too so of course he got included in the photo shoot.

Serendipity. Good luck in making unexpected and fortunate discoveries. Yep.....
