An unfortunate situation led to a great opportunity as our Elmer Beemis 2 bedroom log home is now available starting Thursday (2/23) through Thursday (3/2). Call soon!
There is also a kozy kabin available for school vacation week but it is for the hardy souls willing to walk to the shower house as it it basically a heated one room cabin with electricity but no plumbing. You feet from the shore of Moosehead in either. Yes, groomers are headed out again tonight!

So after scouting out this spot earlier this week, I mentioned to a local that I was heading out to try and get the Milky Way over Borestone. He suggested another spot which had a MUCH better view of the mountain. To me, this angle doesn’t look very Borestone-esque. Unfortunately, just a short distance down the lake meant that the angle on the Milky Way was no longer correct and it was no where near lining up with the mountain. I did get to meet some awesome people who showed me around their amazing property. I’ve definitely got my sights set on shooting there again, potentially if the northern lights ever decide to kick off again. I tried a couple of shots that didn’t quite work there before heading up the road a bit and walking through the woods to find the spot I had scoped out. I had time for a short timelapse before the core set. This shot is a blend of one from the middle of the timelapse and an extra long exposure(60sec) I grabbed afterwards to show off the light the just risen moon was casting on the mountain. I should have the timelapse ready for posting shortly.

I love Moose close by but I also like to use my wide angle lens or a shorter zoom to include some of the beautiful scenery that moose lives in. Here are a few shots from two different mornings in North Maine Woods. The cold nights and warm water makes for some beautiful morning fog
