The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum will be open this summer! Definitely worth the trip!

The North Carolina Maritime Museum on Hatteras — commonly referred to as the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum — is stoked to announce that after months of reneovatoin they'll reopen to the public at 10 a.m. on May 20. Read on for deets:

The museum has recently undergone a major transformation, with a completely redesigned lobby and a new gallery space with state-of-the-art features and interactive elements that bring our coastal history to life.

The public reopening will include a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. May 20 as we welcome visitors back to the museum, which has been closed since late 2022 for the renovation. Special programs and activities are scheduled that opening week. A list of programs, which will be updated as items are added, is available online.

The museum will also operate on a new schedule: Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 24-26 for the Christmas holiday this year. There are also plans to close to the public for two weeks in January to allow staff time to work on museum projects. Admission will remain free (donations are appreciated and directly support museum operations).

So, yeah….last nights post was entertaining!
Also, incredibly heart warming!!
Honestly, hearing everyone praise my family’s business was the best! Especially my “powerhouse” daughter! ♥️
And without continuing the drama of “the sisters”…or anyone else that has a negative view, not caring for the way I do things, I just wanted to say that, it means a lot to ANY small business to hear people say nice things about them.
We are going in our eighth season so negative attitudes and reviews do not hold the sway they did in the beginning. It was honestly soul crushing to hear people say anything remotely unkind. Knowing you put everything you have into something and have people tear it down.
Now, after having done this for so long, building our business to where it is, and seeing people come back year after year, I have come to the conclusion that the problem lies with the few negative people, not with us.
But, while the negative no longer has the same affect the positive definitely does. It is as wonderful to hear nice things today as it was in 2015!!
So, THANK YOU!!
