Some recent renters made it out in the sound recently and caught some beautiful fish! They said they had to release 5 over 20” to stay in the new limit!! Congrats Guys!!

Double report coming at ya. Had a customer come stay at the Gear Up Camp post freeze and he mopped up on the redfish on fly. In 3 days of fishing he was able to catch over 40 beautiful reds. That's quite an accomplishment considering two days before he arrived we were having record cold weather.

I was able to make it down this past weekend for some camp maintenance and some quality fishing as well. We hammered the big trout very close the camp. These fish usually stay around until April and don't let the rough weather scare you away. I believe the cloudy colder days can be the best. Take a look at the logs we brought back. We released all fish over 22" too.

All smiles around the camp this winter. What a better way to social distance than escaping to nature. Duck hunting has been very solid so far, and the fishing is the best it’s been in years 5 minutes from the dock. Don’t let the fronts scare you away. In between the fronts is some of the easiest fishing of the year.

Hello Friends. The Gear Up Fish Camp fared well during Zeta. We have a power pole down for the dock, but we are working to get it back up.

Power has yet to be restored down in Hopedale. Word I’m getting is that it could be a few weeks. We are hoping for the best. I will update when the power is turned back on.

Although we made out ok, our thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered damage. If we can be of any help please reach out.

Guests at the camp this weekend had lots of action. Saturday the winds were up some and they stayed close catching their limit of redfish and few bass. Sunday they ran out towards Eloi and caught their limit of Specks! Congrats!! The fish cleaning station was well used!! 👍👍

5 minutes from the dock of the camp! Long runs aren’t always necessary for summertime slams! Few dates still available in July. Get on the books before they are gone.

Social Distancing at its finest! Fish are biting and the weather is beautiful. Just left camp and it’s is completely disinfected and ready for guests.

Had PPI Precision at the camp for a week of fish Catching!! These boys had the odds stacked against them with the Big front that blew thru last week but they ended up catching all they wanted 2.6 miles away from the camp. Contact me to get in on the action.

So... Here we go... Welcome friends and family to the Gear Up Fish Camp. We have recently acquired a beautiful piece of property in Hopedale, LA and we are wanting to share our place with you. I'm currently working on a website where you can book dates, but things are moving slower than I hoped. We accept paypal, credit cards, and good ole cash $$$$.

October Fishing is one of the best times of the year to fish. The trout and redfish come in close and get crazy for shrimp. If you are real nice I'll share some Intel to make sure you have good trip.

Travel Trailer. This Puma Bunkhouse travel trailer will be located under the raised camp. It has a queen bed in the rear and 3 smaller beds in the front. 1 Bathroom Outdoor Kitchen with small grill also available. Also feel free to use the Screened in Dock on Beautiful Bayou Loutre.
