It is believed that William Sublette named this landmark Independence Rock during an Independence Day celebration here on July 4, 1830.

He had stopped at the site leading an expedition to the Wind River to trade with Native Americans.

For pioneers and settlers, this rock was a celebrated milestone. Arrival here by the 4th of July indicated the western mountains could likely be crossed before winter snowfall.

Many settlers left their signatures in the rocks as proof they made it.

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Arizona.

Archeologists discovered the “Great House” which shows evidence that ancestral Sonoran Desert people built this Casa Grande to develop wide scale irrigation farming and extensive trade connections which lasted over a thousand years.

In 1892, President Benjamin Harrison set aside one square mile of Arizona Territory surrounding the Casa Grande Ruins as the first prehistoric and cultural reserve established in the United States.

In 1903, a shelter roof was built over the Casa Grande.

In 1918, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the ruins to be a National Monument.

On this June 6th, we remember the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion that led to the liberation of Europe.

We were blessed to be on these beaches 10 years ago. We toured this area on bicycles with 200 service members, including a few that served on D-Day.

We visited the Normandy American Cemetery, had flag-raising ceremonies and spoke with French citizens who are grateful to Americans for their liberation. 🇺🇸

It was a living history tour and we want to make sure that we do not forget this event and its significance in history. 🙏

We honor all the Allied troops who came together to fight for our freedoms. 🇺🇸

We also honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in this Invasion 🙏

Plus the wildlife on this course is amazing 😻

We love the Arizona desert and don’t mind the heat. We start playing early in the morning and then we are done by lunchtime 😻

When you have this beautiful, green rolling course and you see something on the fairway in front of you.

We speculate that it is more Javelina’s.

Then we get closer and see they are sleeping coyotes. 🤪

They pick their head up as we drive by in the cart, but other than that, they don’t move.

They found a place to rest after gallivanting all night.

There is so much beauty on this course. ⛳️

We love hanging out here. ❤️

It’s Javelina City on the Golf ⛳️ Course 😆

These animals are getting frisky right behind the tee box AS we are teeing off. Talk about distractions while driving 😅

Then, a whole family is hanging out on the green. Do we hit the ball or not? We think, maybe they will run if the ball lands near them?

They actually want to check out the ball, as if it is food. We had to “shoo” them away from the ball so we could go up and putt.

We know that some Javelina can be aggressive and we didn’t want to aggravate them. BUT, they didn’t really care that we were there. 🤪

They are amazing animals to look at and it’s not every day that you get to see these animals, especially on the golf course ⛳️.

We also know they can be a little stinky. But, as close as they were to us, we couldn’t really smell them. Thank goodness 🙏

In the book “ Fire in the Hole” by Bob Parsons, he talks about his life experiences.

In his words,
“ I wanted to be the best version of myself that I could possibly become. The Marines gave me that passion, drive, and discipline.

You get to decide your path.

I knew it increasingly when I became a Marine that it was up to me to get clearer on what I wanted to do and who I wanted to become.

As Marines, we were all tough, hardened, and serious about why we were there—to serve our country and hopefully not get killed. And certainly not accidentally, by one of our own.

There was a moment sometime during training at Camp Lejeune when I decided I would always try to do my job as best I could, just like I did in boot camp.

I wanted to be the best version of myself that I could possibly become. The Marines gave me that passion, drive, and discipline and for that I am incredibly grateful.”

As a Marine, we identify with the passion, drive and discipline that comes with being the few and the proud.

We also see this drive in other Marines as well as other Service members ! 🇺🇸

There is something special that calls those to serve our country and protect our freedoms 🇺🇸

Happy Book Launch Day to Mr. Bob Parsons 📕🙏

We picked up an extra copy at the PXG Scottsdale store ⛳️ and talked golf with our favorite staff members there. ❤️

Mr. Parsons starts off the book by revealing his letters that he wrote himself in an inner-child workshop almost 30 years ago🙏

He states that the lifetime events that led to these 3 documents form the basis for this book. 📕

We can’t wait to learn more about the life behind Bob Parsons. 🤩

You can find his book on Amazon and have it in a few days to start learning more about this US Marine and how the Marine Corps had a huge effect on his life. 🇺🇸

This book is the untold story of his traumatic life and explosive success. ❤️🇺🇸

We talk about Mr. Parsons often, especially since we own PXG golf clubs ⛳️
AND He is a Marine! AND he donates annually to our favorite charity 🇺🇸 to help wounded, ill and injured🇺🇸❤️

Did you know Mr. Parsons served in Vietnam? He was assigned to the 26th Marine Regiment, which is why you will find the number 26 on his golf gear.

He was wounded in action and earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Purple Heart.

He started GoDaddy in 1997 and started PXG ( Parsons Xtreme Golf) in 2015.

Blueberries, blueberries and more blueberries 🫐 Every Island we went to in the North Channel had wild blueberries. The more remote places we explored ,the more blueberries we found. 🙏 The darker purple ones were the sweetest. We even had blueberries with a new friend that had never picked wild blueberries before and just ate them.
