Settlement Worker's Bedroom Timelapse
Last week, The House of the Seven Gables introduced its first 20th-century room to the Mansion Tour!
The Settlement Worker’s Bedroom, formerly known as the Dining Room Chamber, has returned to its early 1950s appearance when it served as living quarters for social workers of the Settlement Association. Renovations included adding new wallpaper and paint, making lighting improvements, and, of course, adding furniture, images, and historical touches that bring the space to life.
Have you seen the room in person yet? Plan your visit now at 7Gables.org/tickets
A few days before Christmas in 2022, we experienced a powerful storm that caused waves to breach our seawall. Today, a similar storm hit our coastline.
Days like this remind us of how grateful we are for our Coastal Zone Management grant. One of the major issues we are studying with this grant is the impact of rising sea levels on our campus, as well as other effects of climate change on our historic houses.
