As a formerly used defense or FUDs site, the Dare County Regional Airport is in the process of undergoing environmental restoration to ensure the site meets North Carolina Groundwater Quality Standards (NCGWQS) standards. After a thorough evaluation of viable remedies, the project team selected an in situ injection of PetroFix® Remediation Fluid, an enhanced attenuation approach, considered as the most viable, cost-effective means to achieve site closure in a reasonable timeframe. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, the city of Kenosha is now looking to redevelop one of its most-famous landmarks dating back to the early 1900’s. The site is transforming into an innovation center, a charter school for science, tech, and engineering. AECOM®, a leading global environmental consultant firm, has worked with the city to develop an effective plan to remediate the site allowing for the redevelopment to move forward. The team worked with REGENESIS to design a combined remedy of sorption-enhanced reductive dechlorination (or ERD) and in-situ chemical reduction (or ISCR) solution. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, the city of Kenosha is now looking to redevelop one of its most-famous landmarks dating back to the early 1900’s. Once home to Chrysler Motors Engine Plant, the site was the original birthplace of the combustion engine manufactured by Thomas B. Jeffrey Company and later became American Motors and finally Daimler/Chrysler.
Mayor John Antaramian looks forward to the site transforming into an innovation center, a charter school for science, tech, and engineering; 3,700 residential-related properties, retail, and green spaces along with additional street access points. AECOM®, a leading global environmental consultant firm, has worked with the city to develop an effective plan to remediate the site allowing for the redevelopment to move forward.

A technical explanation of how PlumeStop colloidal activated carbon functions within an aquifer to purify groundwater of PFAS contamination.
This video from our EU team explains how the injection of remediation substrates are used to treat contaminated groundwater. Key topics covered include the injection of a remediation product, targeting flux zones, how to achieve optimum distribution, and more! http://ow.ly/ght250GHiQp
This video shows a project where the integrated remediation of petroleum hydrocarbons in soils and groundwater was carried out by Rake Remediation. It was a sensitive project, due to the location next to a chalk stream. The use of an injectable in situ permeable reactive barrier (in situ PRB) made protection of the stream safe and simple, reducing remediation time and cost. https://youtu.be/xauPTFLUPmk
As part of the 2021 combined conference, Battelle coordinated a playground build in a local Portland, OR community with the help of KABOOM!, a non-profit that works to ensure all communities have access to playspaces. REGENESIS was proud to contribute to the build and we are happy to share the playground is complete! We are thrilled the children in the Portland community have a quality place to play. Thank you to Battelle and KABOOM! for making this possible.
