Rescuing relationships with Wine Therapy!

We welcome you aboard the historical vessel, Wine Therapy, and are so proud to share her rich history with you.

Our classic boat Wine Therapy, originally named Lulu Kai, was built in 1958 down in Southern California. She was custom ordered by an amusement park named Pacific Ocean Park aka the POP. It was a nautical themed park built to compete with Disneyland. The Lulu Kai was one of two vessels featured in the ride Polynesian Trader Boats. It had similar characteristics as the Jungle Cruise, with a witty captain making jokes along their pier route. The 2 vessels, Lulu Kai and Lani Kai, were sister boats built by Jeffries Bros. Sadly the POP was only open from 1958-1967. The vessels then moved to San Pedro making Ports O’ Call their home. Lulu Kai made daily LA harbor tours passing many famous landmarks like the Love Boat during the 70s and 80s. She then moved to Kona Kai Marina in San Diego before heading north to make Pier 39 her permanent home.

Chris Merritt and Domenic Priore wrote an interesting book about Pacific Ocean Park. You can find it on Amazon for more history and a nice excerpt about the Polynesian trader boats.
