Silver Lake Sand Dunes by SG Captures.

There are some places that just plain make you feel so alive. Those natural wonders that move and fascinate you to your core. For me, the Silver Lake dunes and its ghost forests is one of those places. Being surrounded by miles of massive sand dunes on this very otherworldly landscape is such a surreal feeling that reminds one of just how small we are. It’s a feeling that never gets old.

A hike on Silver Lake Sand Dunes is a refreshing, fascinating and revitalizing experience - every time! And with this perfectly painted, colorful and fiery sky from Monday made it extra, extra revitalizing! 😍🔥

The Northern Lights over Lake Michigan in Saugatuck this morning around 12:45am. The Lights were visible in the area here until 3:30am when they started to fade. If you don't have a recent Smartphone with night photography, you may only see streaking and very light color. With the right camera however, the Lights are spectacular. There is also a good chance to see the Lights again tonight if the skies stay clear. So watch the skies.

During a recent morning in the Les Cheneaux area I was treated to a beautiful sunrise over the lake shore. The rocky shoreline was set aglow by a stunning red-orange sky that kept getting more intense by the minute. I didn’t think that things could get any better until I turned to look behind me only to be treated to this incredible view.

Many of us in west Michigan got a good look at the Northern Lights last night and early this morning, Although it rained after midnight, the skies cleared around 4:15 am, and when I stepped out of my house with my iPhone, I was met with a glorious light show. I've seen the Lights twice before, but never thought I'd watch them again from the comfort of my front driveway in Saugatuck. Let's see what happens tonight.

Wilderness State Park, Carp Lake, MI by SG Captures

There are some things that leave you just plain speechless….and taking in a dark sky…deep within the wilderness of northern Michigan (free of light pollution) is one of them. Just….pure….darkness and stars to infinity! This was last night at Wilderness State Park (the RV’ers parked were such a welcomed addition to this scene and vibe too). Keeping the love of our dark skies, awareness of the impacts of rapidly increasing light pollution and the spirit of International Dark Sky Week alive, with a lil mini-trip to Mackinac Straits and Bridge.

I am adventuring with my two favorite adventuring buddies, Sheldon and Lola! Traveling with them is something that I cherish so much! 🩷🐕‍🦺🐾 I am thinking today’s adventures may lead us clear into the UP….somewhere! It’s such a playground of amazing places up here, it’s hard to choose but for me, that’s how I roll. Random and spontaneous (and ADD) like it’s nobodies business hahaha 😂….and that’s part of the fun! Hitting the road in a bit, taking in this sunshiney morning and heaven on that only can offer! Have an amazing Sunday everybody! 💙☀️💫

Ludington's North Breakwater Lighthouse by SG Captures

She was a little breezy here today…:and the big lake was ramped right up! Since the best of it was happening while I was stuck at the office lol…of course I just can’t help being inspired to rival the mood! On top of that, the sky this evening was a big, boring blanket of blah (😂)…so I will take this opportunity to share this fairly recent (faaantastic) day at one of my favorite places to chase some good old fashioned windy drama! I was in love with those clouds chock full of mood….and how about that turquoise?! One of the countless reasons this area of Michigan is such a gem….that turquoise water! Ludington love 😍
