The Turkey family stopped by my house for a visit this morning. They were joined by Punxsutawney Phil’s cousin Chuck, who hung out by our cars.
Summer night sounds
It was a dark and moonless night… but very peaceful.
Beary big visitor!
Very, VERY large visitor strolling past our house. So glad we were all inside!!
I’m going to try this again, the last time just the caption was published and they left out the video. Here are some fawns enjoying Fawn’s Glen. 🤞
After a stormy afternoon I decided to check the water level of the trout stream. I found our resident deer enjoying a peaceful evening.
Duck nesting season is in full swing. The migratory ducks like the Wood Duck and the Common Merganser featured here are back. This is a male, he was on our pond fishing for lunch and I was lucky enough to film him as he caught a pretty good sized fish and swallowed it. I assume his mate is nesting as she wasn’t around. They come back and spend every summer here on our property. Like the smaller Hooded Merganser, the Common Merganser is an expert diver and feeds on fish. I love that our pond water is crystal clear allowing us to watch their underwater acrobatics.
The sounds of spring...the beauty of the outdoors extends beyond what we see. Each season has it’s own unique symphony of nature. Spring nights are all about the frogs. During the day listen to the bull frogs in the bullfrog nursery. At night the peepers and tree frogs sing their lullaby. Enjoy.
I get inquiries from Airbnb guests about the layout of the house. It is hard to describe so I decided to do a series of videos showing the interior of the house. Hope you enjoy.
Second master bedroom and bathroom and the bunk room.
Bathroom attached to the bunk room.
I shot this video early yesterday morning. We had a light snowfall overnight but turkey breeding season is in full swing. They find the lawn at Fawn’s Glen a romantic spot to gather.
Now that the snow has receded more trails are accessible to me and Violet. Today we walked to Tom’s pond.
