Количество фиксируемых дальневосточных леопардов в дикой природе выросло до 129! За последний год также родилось не менее 14 котят леопарда 🐆

🔸В начале 2000-х в мире насчитывалось всего около 35 особей пятнистой кошки. К 2023 году это число выросло до 125.

✔️ Результаты исследований показывают, что популяция остается стабильной, а благодаря ее росту дикие животные расселяются за пределы охраняемых участков, возвращаются на территории, где их истребили в прошлом веке.

🔸Данные о состоянии единственной в мире дикой популяции этих животных получены с помощью фотомониторинга.

🔸Специалисты «Земли леопарда» обработали более миллиона снимков фотоловушек. Выявлено более 15 тысяч снимков с леопардами. Данные анализируют с помощью специальной программы для индивидуальной идентификации.

🔥 Ежегодно, 5 апреля, в день основания нацпарка ученые предоставляют эту важную цифру.

Earlier this year, after two years of trying, photographer Anurag Gawande captured something very special. The black leopard was spotted roaming through Tadoba National Park in India. The leopard's dark coat is caused by a genetic mutation, called melanism, which allows extra black pigment to develop in the skin or hair.⁣

This is where I stayed when I took a familiarization trip to Mozambique. I felt a little out of place because I was alone and it was a honeymoon destination for everybody else. What’s cool was the staff was amazing so my initial apprehension was soothed in no time.
