We're in the middle of a hot and dry spell this month and we want to remind you to continue following all the necessary burn bans throughout the state! Skagit County, Washington State Department of Natural Resources, and the National Parks Service have all enacted burn bans to help keep down the risk of wildfires.

If you do find yourself in the middle of an evacuation due to a wildfire or other natural disaster, remember to "Ready, Set, Go!"

Being prepared ('Ready'), staying aware ('Set'), and acting early ('Go!') can mean the difference between life and death. We've seen time and again that early action and preparedness save properties and, more importantly, lives.

1. Be Prepared: Create an emergency plan for your family and pets. Know evacuation routes and safe meeting places.

2. Get Set: Assemble an emergency kit with essentials like water, non-perishable food, medications, and important documents.

3. Go Early: When evacuation orders are issued, leave promptly to ensure your safety and reduce traffic congestion.

Remember, preparedness saves lives! Let's work together to ensure that when danger approaches, we're all ready to act swiftly and safely.
