Great advice for those "close" encounters...

It's time to have our spring chat about BEAR Safety. 🐻 We all have been there: you see a bear and think one or all of these things: "Cute! How close will it let me get?" "It looks hungry! I should share my sandwich." "I need a selfie!" 🛑 STOP

🛑 Stop and remember the following:

A Fed Bear Is A Dead Bear - Feeding bears teaches them to look for food from humans. Bears that forage on human food have a shorter lifespan and will be euthanized if they attack in search of food around humans.

Wild Animals Will Defend Themselves - By getting too close, you are risking your life, the life of those around you and the life of the bear.

It is Illegal in the National Park - Willfully approaching a bear within 150 feet or any distance that disturbs or displaces the bear can result in fines and arrest.

We can protect our bears together. ❤️
