Italy's Christian Josso has been working to set up whiskey tours for all the “pure whiskey lovers” of Europe. Josso thought these tours should start in Kentucky or Tennessee, states with long histories in whiskey. But now he's thinking of starting in Wyoming.

This extent of construction delay was not anticipated at the beginning of the season, but as we say here, "That's the way it goes!" Sorry for the inconvenience but the results will definitely be worth it!

I would like to take a few minutes and clear up any confusion about the roads along the northern range of Yellowstone National Park. I'm seeing a lot of misinformation on other FB pages about the roads.

The roads across the northern range of Yellowstone (north entrance at Gardiner to northeast entrance in Cooke City/Silver Gate) are all open for travel 24 hours a day. Is there road construction? Yes, for sure. However, when I traveled the road several days ago the longest wait I experience was 12 minutes long.

Every road in Yellowstone is drivable and passable this summer.

So, if you're wishing you could come to Cooke City and experience our corner of Yellowstone, YOU CAN!!! Give us a call to make your reservations. We'll be happy to help and answer any questions you may have.

So, I tried to PAY FOR an ad on Facebook about our unexpected vacancy from June 12 to July 7 in our guest cabins. We have ALL 5 star reviews and are one of the most inexpensive and popular cabin rentals in the Silver Gate area (1 mile outside of Yellowstone National Park NE entrance), and Facebook informed us that our ad was rejected because of some "Discriminatory Information" in our ad !!!! I have NO idea WHAT they're talking about and I am SICK of this, so if you are interested in staying RIGHT OUTSIDE YELLOWSTONE IN A GORGEOUS CABIN for less than most available cabins this upcoming season, check out our website at

After four months of flood recovery efforts, the northeast entrance to Yellowstone is set to re-open on Saturday, effectively opening 99% of the park’s roads.

Here is some up to the minute information about the NE Entrance to Gardiner Road in YNP, per the Superintendent of YNP (who has kept in constant contact with the folks of Silver Gate and Cooke City throughout this entire summer!) Thanks Supt. Sholly

At this time, the roads are looking good. Paving has begun in a couple of places and will continue until done.

All Roads in YNP (except NE Gate to Gardiner) will close on November 1st. Dunraven Pass will close October 11. Road from NE Gate to Mammoth will open October 15th. Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel should be open this winter.

HK Contractors who are working on the Old Gardiner Road have asked for an extension to November 1st. By October 15 they estimate they will only have about 70% of the guard rails up. They may be finished before Nov 1 and if they do this section of road will open.

Until OGR is open completely people with Cooke City stickers will be able to travel from Mammoth to Gardiner on the Old Gardiner Road during a set time. YNP has told me that they will try to get me those times by Friday.

After Nov 1 (or sooner if they get done) the complete road from NE Gate to Gardiner will be open with no weight or length restrictions and will be paved. There will be one section in Lamar Canyon that will have a stop light for one way traffic.

Contractors will return next spring to finish up with additional repairs.

An archery hunter suffered life-threatening injuries inflicted by a moose on Tuesday after the animal gored and trampled him in a remote area about 70 miles west of Fort Collins, Colorado.

Well, at least there's ONE good thing about the Northeast entrance being closed right now!

A bison demonstrated why Yellowstone officials are warning people to stay away from wildlife, especially during the rut. One bison became annoyed with a car and attacked it on Sunday.
