Bhakti Yoga is the ancient Indian science delineating the nature

of consciousness, the constitution of the soul, and our individual and collective relationships with Reality the Beautiful. One's experience of the world is limited by his or her subjective perspective, and Bhakti Yoga is the process of aligning one's consciousness with the all pervasive and personal spiritual Reality. Every meeting, we collectively practice the process of Bhakti Yoga, which includes serving specially prepared vegetarian food (called prasadam in Sanskrit or "divine gift"), engaging in sankirttan (call and response chanting), and holding philosophical discourses.

This sutra-like expression of Srila Sridhar Maharaj (a quote from Loving Search for the Lost Servant) is a profound meditation. On so many levels our current situation and identification with the material plane is nonsensical and lamentable: that we are in a constant state of quarrel (whether individually or collectively, in a subtle or gross way) with so many concocted egoistic centres clashing with one another; that we are far from home in a foreign land because we are intrinsically spiritual beings who belong in the spiritual plane; and that what we are fighting over in the first place is all fictitious and imaginary, because as spiritual beings we have no use for material gain, whether in a subtle or gross manifestation.
"We are quarreling in a foreign land for fictitious gain. But Krishna is engaged in a loving search for His long lost servants. He wants to save them and take them all home. Only by the grace of that Absolute is it possible. A wave is coming from there to take us home, to where everything finally enters."
