My tour, in operation for 21 yrs is unlike the majority of ghost tours that you’ll find in most cities that draw out of town guests. One difference is that I’m a lower Cape Fear historian and the content of the tour comes from a myriad of primary source materials. Another is oral interpretation; content that comes not from average library books, free plaques dotted along streets, town printed brochures. Instead it comes from the voices of the past, those who lived it, passing it down throughout generations. The greatest difference is the presentation. Not regurgitating facts or bits of intrigue, but like a good book and I, the author. I mean to transport my guests. Take them to another time. Another place. Let them dwell if only for a moment and invite you to come get acquainted with the night, discover why we are called Cape Fear

A friendly reminder, we are closed Sun, Mon as we have for 20 years, and Independence Day, July 4th. Due to the festivities, the live music, vendors etc it’s impossible to conduct anything remotely resembling a decent tour. I’m forced to shut down due to that and that where we walk is often glutted with tents, chairs, and so on. I can proudly project my voice but not over live music and fireworks! We will resume on July 5th. I hope y’all have a wonderful time enjoying the spirit of our great nation and the time with your family and friends👻🇺🇸

Reminder that the Old South Tour Tiny Store will be at the bench this evening by the sign. Get there a few min early to browse t shirts a vast array of vinyl stickers, mugs, magnets, fans and other merch. Candy too for anyone wanting a treat and for kids who don’t want candy there’s a few spooktacular toys. Glow sticks too for guests tonight!🎃I carry a limited selection so if you can’t find your size we can happily order too! Long sleeved shirts online as well. Anything to keep y’all boo-tiful👻

Our Chief of Police Mr Todd Coring getting into the spooky spirit with his partner!💀We love that our officers keep us safe be it visitors, guests, locals alike! I’ll add, when he’s able he finds the time to come down when we host school trips on the tour and greet our youngest customers! Just another reason why our town is so lovely!

As our area swells with guests for our great state’s festivities, I’ll continue tours but be mindful on the 2nd or 1st they’ll start blocking off parts of the waterfront. You won’t be able to miss me, likely the only person in a hoop in 90 degree weather. We like to close on the 3rd and 4th for the street dance and fireworks. We hope you’ll have a safe and enjoyable time amongst family friends and countrymen celebrating our Nation’s anniversary of independence 🇺🇸

Y’all, this is awful. For me it’s not like a bad cold. I’m unable to speak more than a whisper. I’ve had to cancel tours this week (June 12-19), it’s my busy season too! I’ve avoided it safely for 2 years now this. Of all times. I’ll be back Tuesday baring dr consultation and I’m steadily booking tours through the summer, just bare with my voice, or text even. This is not a permanent announcement just for this week, and I’ll be back in the bonnet in no time I hope. I wish I would’ve gotten this in the winter when it’s not so hot and it’s not my season to make revenue but it’ll hang tough. I’m glad I cancelled as a precaution fearing that I might have it, turns out I did, I’d rather be safe than sorry. Still, of all the damn times. I hate disappointing folks too, I wish it could’ve been helped. Come see me soon🖤👻

Tonight’s tour-so we are approaching first story stop and I see a fellow with black button down, cradling a bottle of wine. Really I was looking at the wine. He smiles as our eyes meet and we say hello and such. Didn’t hit me until he left but my group started whispering “that’s Delmar!” It was indeed Tim Blake Nelson. All this time I thought he got turnt to ah h***y toad! Never know what you’re gonna see on the ghost tour!
