Oh em gee! You guys! My brother got married last week! The wedding was absolutely breathtaking 💕 Being a part of something so special is a memory I will cherish forever. I am beyond grateful to have gained such an amazing person as my SISTER 🥰 I cannot wait to go back to this little slice of paradise - Oahu has a part of my heart, and I am so proud of my brother & his beautiful wife on the life together they have created. Last night I had the honor of photographing this beauty's senior pictures. I have known her for her entire life and have loved watching her grow into the thoughtful, intelligent and beautiful gem she is today. We had a lot of laughs, some close calls with pigeons, spiders and mosquitoes, but the end results are well worth climbing into window sills covered in spider webs, almost getting pooped on by a family of pigeons and being attacked by mosquitoes (despite dousing ourselves and the air around us in bug spray). Love you Libby!

I know so many 2020 couples have and continue to be faced with very tough decisions regarding their wedding dates, and I really feel for them. Nothing about our current situation is easy and having the added stress about one of the biggest days of their lives is overwhelming at best.

I will say, though, that I love hearing stories about couples who choose to hold onto their wedding date to get married but scale back to small, intimate celebrations, with immediate family and smaller locations... a lot of which is the complete opposite of their original plans. Peeling back all of those layers lets the light shine on the beauty of their love story, making that love the focus of it all. The simplicity that results is pure joy and happiness... and I am so honored that I got to be a part of one of those love stories yesterday.

Haley & Jake: You two really reminded me of what I love most about photographing weddings. Your emotion, constant smiles, loving glances at each other, and connections with your family filled my heart.

I love how Haley wore her mom's wedding dress. (Haley's mom has a special place in my heart... we worked together at Maplewood, and she played a huge role in Sophie's growth and achievements over the past 4 years.) Seeing the pride in her eyes as she helped zip up the back of her dress... the tears of joy as she looked with admiration at Haley... such special moments.
