One of the better ways to find some more unique shells is by walking the most remote part of Bear Island.

All cruises are scheduled around the tides for best shelling opportunities.

A bit of a chilly start (46 degrees) for this local crew with family visiting from Wisconsin. Didn’t stop them from working Bear Island and the sand bars. Dolphin, a trip into the ocean and sharks teeth to wrap up a great morning!

Beautiful afternoon out for these ladies on a girls trip from PA staying on Topsail Island. Some nice finds on Bear Island. Water temp was about 68 and air temp felt like 80s.

This guy, who just came in from the ocean and dumping his moms and grandfathers ashes, obviously took the wrong path! Those jet skies still need water, be it not much. With an outgoing tide, he was gonna be there awhile, and SeaTow wanted $650 with no membership… Always good to brush up on towing skills! 😁

Great cruise today for this family from Winston Salem area on a weekend getaway. Early start on Bear Island yielded some good finds. Third Queens Helmet in last couple weeks. A run out the inlet made for some excitement! Beautiful fall weather.

Sometimes good shells can be found behind the dunes, not always on the ocean side. Found this over 200yds from the “beach”.

Doesn’t get much tighter than this. Elevated water levels from king tides made it interesting running up the White Oak River yesterday. This was the new Rail Road bridge in Stella.
