An engineer by training, Wayne brings a lifetime of involvement in pleasure boats to his review of any boat, whether for formal survey or a simpler consultation. His designation as "Surveyor Associate" and membership in SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors) assures that his survey=product will be accepted by insurers and financing institutions. As a member of the Zenith Maritime group, he
calls upon the expertise of other surveyors, mechanics, and installation specialist within the group, as required. Wayne made a career of Yacht Brokerage for over a dozen years, joining Gig Harbor yacht Sales in early 2000, and becoming among the first NW brokers to be certified under the then new CPYB (Certified Professional Yacht Broker) program in 2003. With over 250 boats listed and 200 boats sold, he has overseen MANY surveys for his buyers and sellers. His own boating experience started at age 3, when he helped the family build a Chris-Craft kit cruiser in the garage; cruised Puget sound and the Canadian waters extensively on this and subsequent family powerboats up thru high school. Owned his first sailboat (a Cape Cod Catboat) while still a student at UW; has owned various trailer-sailboats for cruising diverse locations around the US, according to engineering- work assignments. Took a year's sabbatical in 1998 to find and outfit a 43 foot center cockpit sloop, then cruised with his family down the entire East Coast's Intercoastal Waterway, and out into the Bahamas then as far as the Turks and Caicos... gained a wealth of hands-on-experience in proper outfitting for offshore cruising! NOw actively cruising the same boat throughout the Inside Passage. Member of Gig Harbor Yacht Club, and initiated the monthly "education seminar" series.
