Cartagena, Columbia is filled with color and flavor—from the people, buildings, and food. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in their city and felt safe. You just have to say “no “ to the vendors, but they aren’t as aggressive as in some other cities.

It’s Christmas in The Villages. The lights were turned on tonight in Brownwood. And we even managed to get our sleigh and reindeer in our front yard. Happy Holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends and family. We are celebrating today with the neighbors down the street and will see our children at Christmas. Still unpacking boxes but we installed our name sign today in the yard and cleaned our golf clubs and bags. Priorities, you know. Miss you all but hope your day is filled with love and laughter.

Please share this listing with your friends. Our Dutch Star is in excellent shape and needs a new home since we've bought a house in Florida.

With mixed emotions, we are leaving the full-time RV life to settle in Florida. Unfortunately, that means we have to sell our rig. Please pass this information on to your friends. Here are the details and photos: Fully-loaded, well-maintained, and updated 2007 Newmar Dutch Star, Model 4023 with 4 sl...

Bought our first golf cart and we haven’t yet closed on the house. Custom shop in our hometown of Findlay, Ohio did this one and it just happened to be in Florida. We couldn’t pass it up.

We are at Lazydays RV here in The Villages. Getting a few things done to Maxine to make her perfect before we sell her. As I was walking the dog I saw they were working on one of their trolleys. Trolley tours will start up again in a few months after a 16-month long break due to COVID.

Last week we had the opportunity to visit The Ark in Kentucky. Multi-media attraction with concerts, drama, zip lines, and, of course, the Ark itself.

Not a chalk outline of a dead body. We needed to touch up the stain and polyurethane on one of our rental properties but the plumbing is temporarily out in our basement. So we marked off safe areas to walk so we could get to the bathroom. When the plumber comes tomorrow and fixes the issue we can remove the tape and blend everything. We are on a tight schedule. We have to get to Florida so we can do this all again for our new home. Actually, it’s my job. John is supervising the movers. Who got the better deal?

The Villages is a well-oiled machine. Our inspection was yesterday and we got the report that night. Just a few issues (all minor) and the seller's are taking care of them. Bank paperwork is done. Just waiting on the appraisal. Now to find a golf cart.

So, two nights ago, John and I were looking at homes for sale in Florida. We have been planning to buy next year in either Tennessee or Florida. He called me over to his computer. “Look at this one!,” he said. Thirty minutes later we emailed a realtor that we wanted to put in an offer. It took 15 minutes the next morning to get pre-approved, an hour to get the offer in, and by that afternoon it was ours. We close November 3 in The Villages. That wasn’t really our plan. But it’s perfect for us. And no major renovations are needed. Just one bedroom to paint. Pictures to come later. Once we actually get to see it. We’ve never bought a home sight unseen. Our realtor took video today. Wish us luck.

Only 42 years late, but I made it to Woodstock today. A museum opened a little over 20 years ago. People who attended Woodstock can go and leave a video memory. They show them throughout the museum. Then you can walk the grounds near the stages and pond. Today an open air market was going on. Two bands played—after all, it’s Woodstock.

After roadside repairs (thank you Arnold) we made it the last 15 miles to camp here in the Berkshires. Tonight is a band and bonfire. Notice the dry split firewood on one side and the wet scrap lumber on the other.

Before Salem was “Salem” it was called Naumkeag, after the indigenous tribe that occupied the area. We learned quite a bit about Salem’s history and the elements that probably led to the hanging of innocent people in 1692 during our walking tour tonight. It’s a somber occasion to visit the memorial for those who died. Each has a bench with their name, date of death, and cause of death. Most were hung, five died in prison due to horrible living conditions, and one was pressed to death.

After our very successful day of deep sea fishing, Druann turned some of the fish heads into a fish stock for future use. Our Po***ck and a couple of Haddock fillets became a wonderful fish stew last night.
