Happy Holidays from Three Star Camp!

Just had a lovely visit to camp. The fish are biting, as were the bugs, but they will be gone in the next week or two.

Three Star Camp has a Chef/Caterer available, who can prepare you breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or anything in between. The kitchen is approximately 15 by 25 feet, and has plenty of room for folks who enjoy mingling while dinner is prepared.

Three Star Camp employs a professional caretaker who knows more about the camp and the property, better than many family members. Our caretaker is an expert woodsman, and can answer any question about all trees located in the Adirondacks. When needed, he will provide expert guide service (during hunting season), fishing (May through September), and will accompany you on hikes, if required.

Winter has returned to camp! The ice is roughly 12 inches thick.

The camp has many trails that are actively maintained. Go for a short hike on the Poodle Walk or try to beat the Read family record running around the Lake trail, or try your skill on the Holy Grail - contects all trails, and will take you from 5 hours or more to complete.

The camp sits on Little Simon Pond. A not-so-little private lake. The water is clean, and is in excellent shape due to many years of lime applications in fall and spring.

There is a boathouse with 8 births with canoes and guide boats, a sunfish (sailboat), paddle boards, and kayaks.

The lake is a great place to swim. The camp has a swimming dock adjacent to a very relaxing cabana for those late afternoon naps.

The surrounding forest contains bears, white tail deer, foxes, porcupine, and more. The lake has several fish species including lake trout and brook trout, as well as a returning pair of loons.

A favorite activity is roasting marshmallows in one of the many fireplaces at the camp. Better yet, the island has a fire pit, barbecue, and a lean-to if you’re adventurous.
