Celebrating International Women's Day, we would like to celebrate Harriet Burns.

Harriet was the first woman hired by WED Enterprises (now known as Walt Disney Imagineering) in a creative role. She was integral
in helping design and build some of the original theme park attractions featured at Disneyland as well as Walt Disney World.

In a typical day, she worked alongside her male counterparts in the model shop, wielding saws, lathes, and sanders while still maintaining the wardrobe expectations for women at the time – fully styled in heels and dresses daily. 💃

She played a key role in many beloved attractions and experiences for Disneyland including Sleeping Beauty Castle, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. .

Let's give it up to the woman-power that helped make amazingly magical memories! ❤
