Wow. Thirty years ago today, I received accreditation to issue airline tickets. Starting out with a pregnant wife was a bit of a leap, but Judy's faith in me enabled me to keep going through thick and thin.

Leaving Rottach-Egern for a drive through the stunning Bavarian countryside. Stops at the “over the top” Rococo Wies Church, Neuschwanstein Castle (Walt Disney’s inspiration for his Magic Castle), Linderhof Castle and Oberammergau before checking in at the Hotel Konigshof in Munich.

A few relaxing days at Seehotel Uberfahrt on Lake Tegernsee in the Bavarian town of Rottach-Egern. Lots of spa treatments for Mrs. Carroll Travel, some hearty Bavarian food and an amazing ride via cable car to the top of Wallberg mountain.

Ultimato giorno in Italy. Visit to Cesenatico on the Adriatic Sea, another incredible meal and then to the lovely Ravenna. Halloween and amazing mosaics in Basilica of Sant-Apollinaire Nuovo and Basilica of San Vitale. And, of course, gelato!

Always a great day when I can begin and end with gelato! Started in Cesena (gelato #1), then to Mutonia (you must Google this), St. Leo, fabulously beautiful San Marino,and back to Santarcangelo for dinner and gelato #2.
