Scallop season has officially kicked off! The Blue Heron is located in the Hernando County zone. Our season is July 1st - September 24th!

Our July weekends are gone BUT we have a couple Sunday check-in options that we have discounted to LESS THAN $200/Night! An entire house! On the river! And for less than $200/night is well worth ditching a couple work days we think! 😉😊

Summer Time is upon us and Scallop season is CLOSING IN! Lucky for you, The Blue Heron is located on a portion of the river that also offers direct (no bridge) access to the Gulf of Mexico. By boat, it takes you around 5-7 minutes to be out in the Bay living your best life!

Side note: The Blue Heron's location is superb! To your right, you will be on the main river is less than a 5-minute paddle. To your diagonal left you have direct access to Mud River and Mary's Fish Camp. AND! To your left will take you out to the Gulf of Mexico! What more could you ask for?!

DID YOU KNOW .......
That Mid-April to Mid-May is a slower-crowd season for the Weeki Wachee River! The calm before the SUMMER....I mean *cough* Storm. This means less people on the river (if you're into peace and quiet) and no deathly lines for the local amenities like Buccaneer Bay and the LIVE Mermaid shows.

So, if you ask us, it's the best time to get your river fix! 🙌

The area has experienced several manatee deaths in the recent months. Research is being done on what is happening.

You can do your part by making absolute sure you follow the manatee rules while at the river this Spring / Summer. 🙏

A portion of the Weeki Wachee River that has become shallow over time is being dredged by hand to make it deeper.
