- Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Roadways may become impassable due to blowing and drifting snow.

- Winter Storm warnings and advisories remain in effect for the rest of the Northern Rockies, outside of the Flathead/Mission valleys.

A winter storm is expected to bring moderate to heavy snowfall for much of the Northern Rockies Monday night through Tuesday night. Heavy snow is likely for mountains and mountain passes, particularly for Marias Pass, Lookout Pass and Lolo Pass. In addition, gusty winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow, resulting in difficult travel conditions over mountain passes in particular. Valleys will see periods of moderate snowfall, especially across northwest Montana and north central Idaho, with snow covered roads likely. Be sure to monitor the forecast and the latest road conditions before traveling on Tuesday.
