Albert Einstein said “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it”. Yoga is a science that was developed to support and shift that energy flow in the most optimal ways. In every posture, there is a specific direction that energy is grounding into as well as expanding towards. When we can sync with that energy flow, it really is like magic! There are thousands of breathwork techniques out there and it can be really easy to get lost in “which techniques are best for me?”.. believe it or not, all of those thousands of techniques fall under one of 3 categories; activating, calming or neutralizing.. Intense, deep, almost aggressive inhales activate the body while slow, gentle exhales calm the body, while inhales and exhales that are equal in length and intensity bring us closer to that place right in-between. It’s truly as simple as that! Breathwork is hands-down the easiest tool to create a shift in the nervous system and utilizing it daily can truly change your life! We all have a legitimate opportunity to support the life processes on this beautiful planet that we call home. Fortunately for us, we don’t really have to come up with any ingenious plans or schemes to help support life on this planet, we simply need to stop disrupting the cycles of life and death that make life possible here for all of us. Ensure that as much organic matter as possible stays out of dumps and instead is given back to the soil! If we can do that one simple thing, we will see a more profound impact than we could honestly even imagine. Observe what nature does and then support and replicate those processes wherever we can. Each and every one of us has an opportunity to make a huge difference right now! Always feel free to reach out with any questions about how you can make a difference!
It’s always a great rule of thumb to have one main trunk rather than having multiple that are competing for that main line, it’s the best way to prevent a breaking branch from splitting the trunk and causing serious damage.. I’ll be propagating a couple Thai dwarf mulberry, let me know if you would like one!
Pruning is one of the best ways to promote new, robust growth for any plant but especially for our fruit trees! In nature, birds and other animals are constantly eating leaves and branches off of trees which then prompts the tree to send more nutrients to that exact spot where it lost a branch (pretty smart!). If you ever really look at a tree, the exact spots where branches get cut off is where you always see new branches form. Pruning also ensures that the branches don’t get too long and heavy which may cause them to crack in heavy wind or rain which can cause the tree to split down the trunk and cause damage. Our first post from the Oasis!! One of the thing’s I love most about working with plants is bearing witness to just how resilient they are. I’ve witnessed so many times plants struggle and eventually die off, but then be reborn and absolutely thrive. I am reminded every day of just how resilient all of life on this planet is and so grateful for that daily inspiration!!
I’m so grateful for the support of everyone in the community, it truly means the world to me!! You’ll see this page transition for Soul Space to the Riviera.oasis which is the nickname for my home which I host a lot of community events at, and have started a food forest at as well. I will also be hosting live breathwork sessions (5 to 15 minutes long) on my new tik tok account “breathe.with.chad”. I’m planning to do two up regulating sessions in the morning with one cool down session at night. If you would like to join for those, drop a comment letting me know what times would work best for you and I’ll set those based off of your preferences. This is certainly a bitter sweet transition and though I am selfishly making this shift for myself, I do believe the community will be better served in the end. This Sunday will be the last class at Soul Space and then from there on out we will be holding space at @evolveyogawpb which will be located at 1009 N Dixie Hwy, WPB 33401. I’m so incredibly grateful for everyone that has supported Soul Space over the last several years, and I hope that we have added as much value to your life as you have added to ours. Huge thanks to Neil, Angelique and the entire team at Evolve for opening their doors to us and for welcoming everyone that has called Soul Space home. It is because of their generosity that this transition is even possible and I’m beyond grateful to be a part of the Evolve community. Evolve is having a grand opening this weekend with several classes throughout the weekend and then officially open with a full schedule on Monday the 20th.
