What a pleasure and privilege it is to serve my clients throughout the USA! Here, Diane and I are in Lenox, Massachusetts, visiting with dear clients and friends, Debbie and Dick Burke. Diane and I were vacationing in the wonderful Berkshire Mountains, a pleasant drive from NYC. We also dined with my New York Life Study Group member, Ilene Sykes and her husband Jerry, who live in nearby Albany, NY. The smiles on our faces tell the story!

Manhattanhenge is a unique visual phenomenon that occurs a few weeks before and after the Summer Solstice when the setting sun aligns with the Manhattan street grid. I took this photo earlier this week. It is awesome and beautiful to behold. The glow surely makes me feel happy as I look ahead to sunny outcome for my family, my friends and my clients.

We live in Manhattan. I took this photo from an airplane. Our home is east of Central Park and near the East River (on the left of the photo). 1.6 million people live on the Island of Manhattan -- people from all backgrounds, religions, socio-economic groups, ages, family structures, and political leanings. Primarily, there is peace and neighborliness. Yes, criminals show up here and there. But, they are not political enemies. I have clients throughout Manhattan, New York City and New York State, and in a total of about 15 States. Why can’t all of us in the UNITED States of America achieve peace, respect and trust in our democratic way of life? Can't we all get along?

For the 4th of July Celebration this year, I decided to don the US Army fatigue jacket that I wore as a draftee at the age of 24. After grad school with an MA in television production, I was assigned to the US Army Pictorial Center as a TV Production Specialist, helping to make training films. Not only does the jacket still fit, wearing it allows me to reflect on how our military has kept our precious USA safe and the land of the free. I am devoted to the wellbeing of my family, my clients, and my country!

In my alumni role as a Political Involvement Leader for New York Life (educational advisor to members of Congress), I joined managing partner Steven Solonch and new PIL Maureen Goulbourne in hosting Congressman Jamaal Bowman at the Westchester General Office of NYLIFE. It was a welcome opportunity for the congressman to learn about the counsel we provide to are our clients, many of whom are his constituents. And, to learn more about the key concerns and strategic policies he is focussing on as a member of Congress.
