Each room is very private with separate patios and outside entrances. There are 2 master suites with separate entrances. Relax in the large gourmet kitchen / dining room, spacious stone living room and stain glass enclosed wine reading room. The cottage is a separate 800 sq ft home on the 7 acre property sleeps 4 comfortably. Totally private, yet a stones’ throw to the main house (see aerial photo in the Photo Gallery for property view). All rooms tastefully decorated with comfortable bedding, HD televisions and master suites with gas fireplaces. Both homes have central Heat and Air Conditioning for your comfort. The grounds have numerous patios and walkways with a hobby vineyard (old vine zinfandel grapes) and over 40+ mature palm trees. The centerpiece of the property is a large, natural stone pool & spa with BBQ and stereo system for endless relaxation and enjoyment. Located in the heart of the Sonoma Wine Country, minutes from downtown Windsor and Healdsburg, the drive to this quaint guest home is a treat in itself. Villa Terra Bella is within minutes of local wineries, spas and hot springs, antique shopping, a gorgeous golf course, museums and rafting. Although there are many activities to choose from in close proximity, we were there to relax and experience Villa Terra Bella to its fullest. We found the country road leading to the estate and — WOW — were we blown away as we entered the property. Nestled in the rolling hills of Sonoma Wine Country, we first noticed the 40+ giant palm tress lining the property combined with luscious grass everywhere. Quite a unique site for wine country! It truly has the European feel to it with Zinfandel vines, oak trees and ivy adding to the topography. Our gracious host, greeted us with a special bottle of their estate Zinfandel and proceeded to show us around. To the left of the guest home is the heated pool and hot tub surrounded by beautiful masonry and vegetation. The poolside is perfect for relaxing after a day of wine tasting or hosting an intimate party – Villa Terra Bella has done it all! Also available for small weddings, Villa Terra Bella provides a unique, dynamic setting for your special day. The shingled cottage is located between towering palm trees to the left of the main house and has a porch with chairs to marvel at the landscaping. A vase of fragrant estate roses welcomed us as we entered the bright, cheerful cottage. With plenty of space Villa Terra Bella easily sleeps six people, with two bedrooms + a full sized fold out couch bed, a fully equipped kitchen complete with fresh ground coffee for the morning, satellite TV, a living room and breakfast nook. The master bedroom contains French doors that open to the huge backyard perfect for a pet to run around (They accept animals as well for a small fee) or relax and bbq on the patio. Villa Terra Bella is also children friendly with a cool playground on the property. VTB is happy to assist with information on all the wonderful wineries in the area. The Sonoma Wine country is full of historic, award winning wineries where you can bring your gourmet lunch and learn about the wine. As many people know, on the night of October 10, wildfires broke out in northern California’s wine country, wreaking havoc in Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties.

What many people may not know, however, is that the fires are effectively extinguished, and now is actually a great time to visit the region. Though the fires burned across some 210,000 acres, the entire Napa/Sonoma/Mendocino region covers more than 4.2 million acres. Of approximately 1,200 wineries in the region, estimates suggest that fewer than 10 have been destroyed or heavily damaged.

“The irony is that this is one of the most amazing autumns we’ve ever had,” said Catherine Bartolomei, the proprietor Sonoma County’s Farmhouse Inn. “The vines are red and yellow and gorgeous with fall colors, the skies are crystal clear, the sunsets are gorgeous.”

Weeks after wildfires caused severe damage in some areas, northern California's wine country wants everyone to know it's open for business.

When we were up at our Villa Terra Bella last weekend there were amazing restaurants, markets, wineries that were unharmed, open and not touched by any evacuation or road closures. They were missing one thing...customers because of the perception that all of Wine Country is closed. We will continue to support all the amazing people and business that have been affected and those that at risk of becoming collateral damage.

“The irony of it is businesses are under a greater threat of going out of business because of people staying away than from anything the fire caused,” said Smith.

If people come support us, they’re supporting people who live here, not big companies from far away,” he said. “The Bay Area ethos is local and Northern California-forward. They understand that coming up here will help.”

While the bistro escaped physical damage from the Wine Country wildfires — the patio is open, tables are set and the power is on — the crush that’s missing now is customers. “All I got is cancellations instead of reservations,” said Robert Della Santina, co-owner of the restaurant.

Facing a drastic drop-off in out-of-state tourists fueled by perceptions about the scope of devastation, Della Santina’s and other Wine Country businesses will need to rely more heavily on the kindness of customers closer to home — if they can overcome the same perceptions. Many of the restaurants, resorts and wineries that suffered no physical damage already have taken to pleading with local customers to return, if only to avoid becoming collateral victims of the blazes.

Typically this time of year, tables on the airy, tree-shaded back patio at Della Santina's just off Sonoma Plaza would be filled mostly with out-of-state and international wine fans flooding the region for the tail end of the annual crush.
