This sweet group stayed at the house this past weekend. They’re all educators who came together to celebrate the life of their dear friend who passed away recently. I knew immediately I was going to enjoy hosting this group. By the end of their stay we even had our own inside joke! That’s the kind of warm, silly ladies they are. I’m so honored they chose my house for such a special weekend. It was my absolute pleasure to be their host.

Sometimes I want to pinch myself and I wonder how I got so lucky to get to do this “job.” Connecting with people like this is what it’s all about for me. Feeling pretty grateful over here.

I always write a welcome note to greet my guests and every now and then, they write me a note back. I’m so glad you liked the house Mary. I love her creative use of the heart shaped “M.”

Picked up this gorgeous to***co leaf basket at this past weekend. Decided to jazz up the new table instead of hang it on the wall. It’s totally impractical and takes up half the tabletop…… and I absolutely love it!

I became an indoor plant addict during the pandemic shutdown and I can’t seem to stop. Added a new plant baby to this corner of the living room and I just love it! Also I’m still swooning over this chair and it’s been in the house well over a year!

I’m feeling the urge to seek out some estate sales this weekend. Found these vintage suitcases at least a decade ago at a local flea market. They sit under the book shelves in the master bedroom. I love antique/thrift shopping. The style, the hunt and the idea of reusing something instead of purchasing something new. For my fellow thrift store shoppers, happy hunting this weekend!!!

Gave the living room a little update with this new rug and a bench behind the couch for additional seating. The rug has a bolder pattern than the last one and I think it adds a lot to the room. I not so secretly love having another house to decorate in addition to my own!!!

Guys I have the sweetest guests. I had the pleasuring of sharing a glass of wine with this group recently who had waited over a year to come stay at my house! They had originally reserved for passport weekend in 2020 and instead of canceling they hung with me through several reschedules. Let me tell you - it was worth the wait because these folks were an absolute joy!!! I was so sad to see them go, but they left my welcome sign turned this way for me to see after their departure 💗

I’ve always loved the hot air balloons passing overhead in the morning - a definite perk of where we live. You can see them from the front porch of Vino Velo House too. I love wine country living.

Another to the humble beginnings of Vino Velo House. The is the first of the two smaller guest rooms. Swipe left to see what it looked like in the beginning after I loosely converted my son’s bedroom into a guest room. Another theme room, another “what was I thinking” moment! I love looking back on these pictures because it is so easy to get caught up in what you haven’t done and forget to honor how far you’ve come.

This gorgeous piece behind the couch is not just any architectural drawing... it was done by my great grandfather, Clarence Felciano, when he was in college to become an architect. He went on to design some iconic buildings in the county throughout his career. My family has a long, rich history in Sonoma County and I love sharing these special touches with my guests. When I was a kid we used to spend weekends on occasion at my family’s house on Dillon beach. The beach was fun, of course, but I remember the games the great aunt had in the house just as vividly. Star fish and sand dollar tic tac toe, board games and other interesting items I looked forward to seeing each time we went. Those memories were my inspiration for the selection of special games and toys I have at the house for guests to enjoy. I hope they become happy memories for my visitors like mine from my time at the beach house.

Today is a cleaning day. My weekend group is going home and it’s time to prep the house for the next group. I’m still thrilled with the line of household products I started using late last year. Safety and cleanliness are #1, but it doesn’t hurt that the products are beautiful too.
