The tour season is now up and running. The east gate opened last Friday. I did my 1st tour of the season on Friday with a wonderful family from India who's daughter is working in Boise Idaho. We had a great time with some really nice early season weather. We were able to see quite a bit of wildlife including a beautiful grizzly bear, an otter and Steamboat Geyser erupting. That is a rare event.

On yesterdays Experience Yellowstone Tour we had our first snowfall of the season in Yellowstone National Park. The days are getting shorter and with the gloomy conditions it was still dark driving up the Buffalo Bill Scenic Byway on the way into the park. We had our 1st grizzly sighting before we got to the east gate. Bull elk are gathering their harems and we were treated to some great bugling action at Lake Butte Overlook. We spent a good deal of time watching a sow grizzly with 3 2nd year cubs feeding on a bison carcass in the Hayden Valley. 3 wolves from the Wapiti Lake Pack approached the carcass but the bears wouldn't allow them to join in on the feast. We ended up seeing 8 bears for the day 6 grizzlies and 2 black. Driving back to Cody in the evening we again found a grizzly bear in the Shoshone River Valley. What a great day and I had some very excited passengers along with me
