TOP 7 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TRAVELING TO VIETNAM

1. Vietnam visa requirement
Vietnam visa is easy to granted without any special requirements like financial proof, hotel booking or tour package. Currently, there are 3 ways of getting Vietnam visa: Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy/Consulate, Vietnam visa on arrival, Vietnam Evisa

2. Transportation in Vietnam
There are many types of vehicles for you to move around the city. Unlike other countries, Vietnam has a very cheap taxi system. You can refer to traveling by taxi when coming here. In addition, if you have good driving skills, this is also a great choice. You can roam every street and corner around Vietnam to discover more about this country

3. Vietnamese Currency
When traveling to Vietnam, it is necessary for foreign tourists to convert cash to Vietnam d**g. The USD/VND rate fluctuated between 23,800 VND (July 2023). The secret to not be confused between the different values of money paper is that you should distinguish the color and number written on it. ATMโ€™s arenโ€™t in every corner in all the cities, except for bigger towns. So make sure to stock enough cash with you in small towns

4. Seasonal clothes preparation for Vietnam trip
The summer weather in Vietnam is hot and humid and heavy rains can come so often in a day so you should bring cool material clothes. On the other hand, the North of Vietnam is very cold in winter. Thatโ€™s why you should wear a warm jacket if you want to go to mountainous places like Sapa for example.

5. Language in Vietnam
In most parts of Vietnam, English is not widely spoken, but Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and touristy cities are exceptions. Even though you might find that it is hard to communicate with someone who does not share the same language with you, you always can download online translation apps on your phone and break the language barrier.

Every Tแบฟt (Vietnamese New Year), Hoi An is transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour and light for its Lantern Festival. The celebration lasts for seven days, with the road from Hoi An Bridge to the Hoai River Square adorned with thousands of colourful lanterns.
Over 50 workshops take part in the event, each trying to create the prettiest lantern. The colours are bright and the designs are strictly traditional.

The heart of the festivities is in the old town, between the Japanese Covered Bridge and the Cau An Hoi Bridge. Itโ€™s crowded, chaotic and festive, with spontaneous singing and food stalls at every turn. It is as much a celebration for locals as it is for visitors.

The most breathtaking sight is thousands of lanterns floating on the river; hire a sampan boat to get a closer look. For a small sum, you can buy a lantern and set it afloat too.

Donโ€™t worry if you canโ€™t make it to Hoi An for New Year: smaller lantern festivals are held every full moon.

1. Hanoi's Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem District)

Hanoiโ€™s historic Old Quarter is the heart of Hanoi and the focal point is Hoan Kiem Lake.
Hoan Kiem Lake surrounds Ngoc Son Temple (Temple of the Jade Mountain), which is built on a small island and connected to land by the Huc Bridge. The beautiful gardens along the banks of the lake are popular with locals and tourists alike and here youโ€™ll see people relaxing and chatting with friends, jogging or walking around the lake, playing badminton, and practising tai chi.

2. Hanoi's French Quarter (Ba Dinh District)

The old French Quarter of Hanoi is located immediately to the west of the Old Quarter. The wide boulevards of the French Quarter are lined with French-styled villas and mansions, sidewalk cafes, fine-dining restaurants and luxurious hotels.
This area is where the Ly kings established their Imperial City in the 11th century and it is here where you'll find the city's most important cultural and historical monuments, including the venerable Temple of Literature and the One Pillar Pagoda, both dating from the time of the Ly kings and well worth a visit for those interested in the earlier history of the region.
The rest of the 11th-century architecture was cleared by the French colonial government to build their own administrative buildings. The most impressive of these is the Presidential Palace, the former residence of the Governor-General of Indochina. The nearby Botanical Gardens have been preserved and provide a haven from the hustle and bustle of the city.

3. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum

The mausoleum of the Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader and national hero, Ho Chi Minh, is located in the old French Quarter and is a must-visit for anyone interested in understanding the country's complex political history and the mindset of modern-day Vietnam.
The mausoleum is based on Leninโ€™s mausoleum in Moscow and these architectural similarities echo the political and idealistic influence that the former Soviet Union had on the Vietnamese communist party.
The embalmed body of the former leader is on display in the central hall, protected at all times by a military honour guard. Visiting foreign dignitaries are often invited to pay their respects to Uncle Ho, who still plays an immensely important role in modern Vietnam's ideology.
A visit to the mausoleum and accompanying museum is extremely interesting both from a historical point of view, and to observe the reverence and respect with which the Vietnamese treat Ho Chi Minh

4. Hanoi Opera House

For those planning an extended stay in Hanoi, a visit to the Opera House to view a performance is a unique experience that will take you back in time.
Fully restored in 1997, the Opera House is one of the best examples of French architecture in the city and modelled on the older of Parisโ€™ two opera houses, the Palais Garnier.
The Opera House stages Vietnamese and Western opera, ballet and musical productions by both domestic and visiting companies. A local musical or theatrical performance is a fascinating cultural experience.

๐Ÿ“The Marble Mountains

Address: Hoa Hai, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang 550000 Vietnam

The Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son or โ€œFive Elements Mountains) are a cluster of marble and limestone hills just 7km from the city, and one of the best things to do in Da Nang!
The mountains are full of caves, tunnels and Buddhist shrines just waiting to be explored!
Ancient folklore says that a dragon emerged from the sea and laid an egg on the beach. 1000 days and nights passed and eventually, an exquisite lady was born.
The remains of the eggshells grew into the Marble Mountains that you can see today.

Over the centuries the Marble Mountains were used as a safe haven for soldiers and a place of worship for Buddhists. Today it is one of the most popular attractions in the city!
For years the hills were mined for their valuable stone, although that has been recently banned. You can see examples of intricate stonework in the roadside workshops surrounding the Marble Mountains.
If you are feeling energetic you can climb to the summit of one of the mountains, offering absolutely spectacular views over the entire area.

Donโ€™t miss this Da Nang must-see!

It sounds like you had an incredible experience on the boat in Lan Ha Bay! The two-night option seems to have been a great choice, allowing you more time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and go swimming. It's fantastic to hear that the bay was clean and lived up to your expectations.

The rooms and amenities being great, along with the magical views, definitely added to the overall experience. The fact that you couldn't find any faults with the food speaks volumes about the quality and variety offered. It's wonderful that they provided a vegetarian menu alongside the seafood options.

The staff members, including Chang, Jimmy, Cong, Emma, and the rest of the team, clearly made a lasting impression on you. Their attentive and accommodating service made your stay even more memorable. It's always nice to form connections with the staff when you're away from home.

Thank you for sharing your positive review! It sounds like a fantastic experience, and I'm sure it will be helpful for others who are considering visiting Lan Ha Bay.
