🍅“Banh Chung” (Chung cake) is a traditional and irreplaceable cake of Vietnamese people in the Tet Holidays and King Hung’s anniversary (10th March Lunar). For the Vietnamese, making “Banh Chung” is the ideal way to express gratitude to their ancestors and homeland.

Chung cake was invented by the 18th Prince of Hung Emperor in the contest of looking for new Emperor. According to the legend, 3,000-4,000 years ago, Prince Lang Lieu, made round and square cakes, the round Day cake symbolizing the sky and the square Chung cake symbolizing the Earth (under the ancient Vietnamese perception), to be offered on the occasion of Spring

💥🍁In addition to the majestic cave system, Halong Bay also attracts travelers due to it thousands of islands and islets in diverse shapes and sizes. It is estimated that around 980 out of 2,000 islands and islets were named. Interestingly, most of them were named after its shapes. When it comes to the most iconic islets in Halong Bay, locals often think about Fighting C**k Islet – a symbol of Halong Bay.
👍🌼Fighting C**ks Islet is located in the southwest of Halong Bay, approximately 5km from Bai Chay Tourism Wharf. Fighting C**ks Islet includes two limestone islets in which one looks like a rooster while another has the shape of a hen. 👍💥Each of these islets has the length of around 10 meters. With different imagination, some says that these c**ks are fighting, on the other hand, the others think they are kissing.
🍁🌴Rising from the emerald water, Fighting C**ks Islet has stood their thousands years ago. The islet is made symbol of not only Halong Bay but also Vietnam tourism. Hence, it has become the creative inspiration for photographers, painters, and artists.

💥🍁🌲🌴Bai Tho mountain ( mountain)
Bai Tho Mountain is located in close proximity to Halong city center, only 9km and it takes around 10 minutes to drive to the destination. The trail to the top of Bai Tho is not very hard or steep as it is only 200 meters above sea level. It takes you around 30 minutes to reach the highest point and admire wonderful views of thousands of limestone islets on the waters.
👉 Best things to do:
Contemplate the panoramic view of Bay: A short trek to the peak of Bai Tho Mountain offers a poetic view of Halong Bay and the inner city. It is especially wonderful if you can catch the sunrise and sunset on this mountain. All scenery looks marvelous during these periods of time.
Check in the flag pole and historical stone stele: Since Bai Tho Mountain is also a historical spot, you should not miss a chance to take photos of the flag pole and historical stele on the top
👉 Best time to visit:
The most favorable period of time to climb Bai Tho Mountain coincides with the best time to visit Halong Bay which is from November to April. The weather in this period is mild and fairly dry. In addition, good visibility enables you to watch the bay clearly, especially on sunny days.

Far from Hanoi center, about 50km, Duong Lam ancient village is located in Son Tay Town, Hanoi. The whole village is considered as a unique laterite museum with ancient houses dating back more than 400 years ago.
🌼🌻Duong Lam was the home of 2 Vietnamese kings, Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung. Their mausoleum is still located here. The village was recognized as a National Historic & Cultural Monument on May 19th, 2006. It is the first ancient village of Vietnam to be recognized
🍄🌺Different from Hoi An ancient’s town and Hanoi old quarter. Duong Lam is a typical village of northern Vietnam. It has a main wooden gate with porticoes curvy roof (which is typical in Northern area).
🌿🌱🌾Surrounding the village is the system of ponds creating charming scenery, which helps to reduce the heat of summer during extremely hot days of the North. A large number of ancient houses built with laterite and ironwood pillars gives the village a very special ancient beauty. Most ancient houses maintained fences, gates, courtyard, gardens, the main house, outbuildings, kitchens, ranches, …, which are familiar specifically to the image of Thang Long – Hanoi.
