MAY KIM TRADITIONAL HOUSE - IN TA PHIN VILLAGE

Welcome to my family, the house of Red Dao (Iu Mien) traditional wooden, was built by my parents in 1990. It’s location from Sapa about 12km, called Taphin village, overlooking the green rice terraces in this area.

Come in and stay with us, I am happy to offer my family cultural trekking on mountains experience and especially is our traditional picking herbal medicine this is only Red Dao have (red Dao’s traditional shower).

You could also join in cooking, make spring rolls, cooking local foods...ect, talking with my grandmother she is lovely and sometime she very funny with guests.

This listing is SHARED DORM (one person can sleep on one bed will be comfortably) and shared bathrooms. Home cooked breakfast included in your reservation.

The space

Staying in the “Red Dao (Iu Mien) Traditional Culture House” you will have the opportunity to learn expertise in herbal medicine as well as usage of plants from the land to treat many illnesses, we can show you step by step to make herbal medicine but we will more than happy if you ask us some questions about that :).

5 minutes walking to Ta Phin cave where you can explore more the best our house has offer. This cave is recognized as a national heritage of Vietnam.

You also can do hiking, trekking to mountains, hang out with friends around my village where you will be able to meet both Hmong and Red Dao minorities.

Come in my house you will be warmly welcomed by my family, my grandmother’s 90 years old but she very openness with a new guest come in. My parents are one of the famous people who know the best our cultures, traditional and herbal medicine in Ta Phin village, I know all the thing but I think that will be greater if you talk to my parents, ask them some of your questions you want and them I will translate, I think that will be more interesting.

We have a small hut on the mountain it’s take you just about 1kilometer by walk to get there, we are breeding chickens, pigs and planting a lot of vegetables etc. if you would to know how can we are breeding animals and planting foods? just talk to me I will take you to our lovely hut and show you the best knowledge we have, you will get more experience.

You can enjoy the surroundings while relishing delicious meals with my family.

There are 2 dogs and 1 cat in our house; they are very friendly and love playing with people.

Guest access.

We have space, you can enjoy a cup of tea and reading book in our house terrace. The kitchen is always ready 24/7, whenever you need to cook something, just simply tell us, we will cook together and if you need to cook something for/by yourself we can help you .

Interaction with guests

You can join in our activities like cooking, farming, learn sewing, teaching English to the children here. And we can support you whenever you need such as give you all information about our village... Feel free to ask us anything.
