Is 'Trekking Tour Sapa' a company?
No. We are a team of local trekking guides in Sapa (Sinh and Chu) – a 100% ethnic-minority owned business
Where do we start?
On the morning of your trek, we will meet at your hotel in Sapa town or in front of Sapa’s main church if you prefer. We’ll send you a picture of your guide beforehand so you’ll know who to look for. Our guide will be holding a sign with your name and the Trekking Tours Sapa logo. If you don’t see your guide yet, don’t worry! You may be solicited by other guides to join their tour, but be patient and your Trekking Tours Sapa guide will join you shortly.
What is a homestay accommodation ?
A homestay is a house of a local family where you can experience the real daily life of the local people. In the evening we have dinner together with the family. Our homestays are clean and safe with hot showers, western-style toilets, and fast free WiFi. Meals are included with your accomodations. Beer and soft drinks can be purchased from the host.
What guests should bring ?
Bring good trekking shoes! Our adventure will take you through forests, over streams, and up and down the hillsides. The trails can be slippery in some spots. Hiking shoes are best, but many locals navigate these trails in flip flops! In the rainy season (May-July) a waterproof jacket is a must. Other times of the year it’s still a good idea to bring one too. Mosquito repellent is recommended. Other than that, bring comfortable clothes and some spending money for beverages or souvenirs.
How can I get to Sapa from the train station ?
Most tourists arrive by train in Lao Cai, a city on Vietnam’s border with China. We are happy to arrange a private car ($30 each way for four people) to take you from the train station to Sapa town or the beginning of your trek. We can also arrange a group bus from Lao Cai to Sapa town for $3 per person each way.
What currency to pay with?
You can pay us in US dollars and in Vietnam D**g. Whatever is easiest for you
