Quick question....one of the caves you will be sleeping in seems to have been a Khoi San tool workshop with hundreds of chalcedony (yes I’m a geologist 🙂 arrow tips etc lying around on the floor....

This is a new find and we would like to give the cave a great and apt name. Tool Cave for example just doesn’t cut the mustard!

Any suggestions welcome 🙏

Starting after the weekend of 19th November our Cave Camino will be fully operational esp for family groups. This unique concept sees you staying in well appointed (water, bedding & fire) caves (San rock art) or in adjacent gorgeous guest houses (aka-www.gkengyle.co.za) and either slack-packing or hiking these stunning mountains ⛰

This exciting hiking initiative is being launched in spring 2020!

It will include a pilgrimage back in time, accommdation will be in some of the iconic sandstone caves of this region. Some of these majestic caves are home to rock art from years gone by.

The 3 day Camino will cover about 50km of the most incredible and remote scenery in the Eastern Cape Highlands, Barkly East.

The route is varied, encompasing district roads and well marked footpaths.
