Jo Noero's intention to focus on the necessary means that every last detail of the house was carefully considered and beautifully crafted.

‘We had a ferociously good builder who led a team
of local labourers,’ adds Noero. ‘They crafted this house
using traditional skills that have been used for more
than 400 years.’

This immense attention to details - such as the materials & techniques used in the construction, fittings and use of space - has resulted in a house that feels completely immersive. An experience to live in.

The Castle Rock Beach Villa is a split-level house, with sunlight penetrating through to the lower multipurpose space. The white concrete walls are paint free and create a bright atmosphere throughout. The Villa is already a long term fixture and beautiful - yet unobstructive - addition to the peninsula.

The two curved, concrete beams - which support the steel tracks of the mechanized glass roof - mimic the outstretched arms of a swimmer about
to dive into the ocean.

‘They express the pressures
of the roof pushing upwards and outwards,’ says Architect Jo Noero, ‘A thrust towards the sea.’

Castle Rock Beach Villa was designed by architect Jo Noero - of Noero Architects - to blend into the surrounding landscape, but also be durable enough to provide retreat from the South-Easterly winds.

The Villa features a mechanised glass roof with a bespoke solar shade system. It provides additional sun protection but can open up the sky at the dwellers preference.
