Over the past seventeen years, the business has been producing and coordinating numerous successful events across South Africa and Namibia, varying in kind and scale. Initially, our main focus was on offering the youth opportunities to fur
ther their talents, at the same time providing clients with multi-dimensional, value-added promotional opportunities. We initiated road-show type events such as national pageants, talent shows and model competitions, hosted mainly in shopping malls across the country, which events were associated with and sponsored by national brands gaining exposure from their involvement in the events, with additional spin-off provided by media coverage related to the events, such as television coverage, newspaper publicity and, more recently, exposure on the Internet. Promotional mall events became one of our first areas of expertise, which expanded to include event management and coordination of any type of event, whether start-to-finish of an entire event or covering certain specific aspects of an event. We have worked side by side with most of the prominent shopping centres in South Africa, as well as a collection of high-profile companies, brand names, small to medium-sized enterprises and television production companies. Over the years, our work has been featured extensively in community and national newspapers, as well as on national television, such as SABC3 (S.A. Model search on Top Billing), M-net (Yamaha Young Talent); etv (Missy Junior RSA Talent Search on craze); DSTV – Summit TV (Yamaha Young Talent Grand Finale on Business of the Arts); SABC2 (Missy Junior RSA Talent Search on Morning Live); DSTV channel go (Yamaha Young Talent on Vicious Delicious); kyknet (Yamaha Young Talent Grand Finale – one hour transmission). A keen interest and doors of opportunity opening in a number of related fields led us to become actively involved in additional lines of work, outside but complementing the area of events management. Soon we were able to add a vast collection of experience in the industries of photography, marketing, interior design, consulting and travel to our repertoire. Driven by a passion for innovation, it just made sense to restructure the business in 2012, including all areas of expertise on offer under one colourful umbrella of creativity and interpersonal connection – and the decision was made to aptly rename the business to Options Innovation.
