🤔Latest news on travel rules...

🇪🇸Spain extends travel restrictions on arrivals from the UK, Brazil and South Africa until March 16🇪🇸

The rules are aimed at preventing the arrival of more-contagious variants of the coronavirus that could lead to a new uptick in cases.

The Spanish Cabinet on Wednesday extended travel restrictions on arrivals from the United Kingdom, Brazil and South Africa until March 16. The measure is aimed at preventing the arrival of the more-contagious variants of the coronavirus that have been detected in those countries.

Current rules stipulate that only Spanish citizens or people with other nationalities who have official residency in Spain or Andorra can fly or sail into the country from the United Kingdom, Brazil and South Africa. Passengers traveling from those countries to a non-Schengen destination with a stopover less than 24 hours in Spain must not leave the international transit area of the airport.

The agreement, however, establishes some exceptions to the rules and allows the Health Ministry to lift the restrictions and allow one-off flight arrivals for justified reasons. Restrictions on passenger travel from the UK by air and sea have been in place since December 22, following alarm over the B.1.1.7 strain of the coronavirus that was first detected in the English county of Kent. Spain introduced further restrictions on travel from Brazil and South Africa on February 2 after more-infectious variants of the virus were also identified in those countries. The rules were set to expire on March 2.

The decision from the Spanish Cabinet comes as the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic continues to ease in Spain. On Tuesday, the 14-day cumulative number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants fell below 250 – the threshold considered to indicate a situation of “extreme risk.” But health authorities warned that there is still a danger that Spain will see a new uptick in cases as regions start to relax restrictions on social gatherings and the hostelry industry, and the Easter break approaches.

Compounding the risk is the arrival of the new variants of the coronavirus, which are not only more contagious, but can also cause more serious illness and, in the case of the strain from South Africa, reduce the effectiveness of current Covid-19 vaccines. According to a recent report from the Health Ministry, the B.1.1.7 strain now accounts for nearly 70% of new cases in Asturias and close to 50% in Catalonia. The document stated that a total of 916 infections of the new variants have been detected in Spain, most of which correspond to the strains detected in the UK, South Africa and Brazil.

🙋🏼‍♂️ Today we visit San Pedro de Alcantara, a suburb of Marbella on the popular Costa del Sol.

As you enter San Pedro you will find what is probably the most typical Spanish town left on the Costa del Sol, kept very clean with a central shopping area, quiet parks and squares and beautiful gardens.

Turn right off the main road to the Nueva Alcántara area and you reach the very long, newly constructed promenade and the long, wide beaches, where there are many new developments taking shape.

This area in particular lends itself towards exceptional value when it comes to future growth on property investments and especially in the holiday letting environment.

If you are interested to know how you can buy a rental apartment on the popular Costa del Sol to generate passive rental income from day one give us a shout.

I will explain the whole buying process as well as how to obtain a bond and buy your first property which will generate a passive profit in Euros every month😀

🤔 Want to know how much cellular phone tariffs in Spain are?

Here is what I personally found.

Since launching our emigrate to Spain information service we have received numerous questions on what the costs of cellular phones are in Spain. Especially prepaid rates as people tend to frequently travel between their home country and Spain when purchasing investment properties etc.

Well in the picture you can find the cost of Lebara which I have found to be the cheapest. Other service providers I found are a bit more expensive such as Lobster. Please check out their websites for more info.

Sim cards can be obtained once you land in Spain and simply be inserted in your phone and you are off to go.

🙋🏼‍♂️ The Torre Nueva, also called Torrenueva and sometimes Torre Sabá, is a watch tower located in the Andalusian town of La Línea de la Concepción and is one of the 44 towers of the same characteristics that dots the Spanish coast.

All of them were built during the reign of Felipe III, along with others located along the Mediterranean coast from Málaga to Catalonia.

The purpose of these watchtowers was to warn the coastal population of the presence of Berber pirate ships, for which smoke signals and bonfires were used.

At the top of each tower, there was always a bundle of dry wood to be burned immediately in case of danger, transmitting the alarm signal to the towers nearby.

😀 Peaceful here in La Duquesa. Looking for a safer more secure country with better work prospects?

Come and explore Spain🇪🇸

🤔Spain offers a sunnier climate where the pace of life is relaxed and balanced, so it’s unsurprising that many people finding themselves in countries which are unsafe and without secure living conditions, relocating to this part of the world.

🤔The Spanish climate

Being such a large country, Spain’s climate varies from region to region. In the North, it has a temperate climate, with mild winters and warm summers. The Costa del Sol in the South though, offers fabulous sunny days almost most part of the year.

🤔The cost of living in Spain

One of the many perks of relocating to Spain is the cost of living. If you want to eat and live like a local, your money can go much further than it does anywhere else in Europe. Property is also reasonably priced in comparison to South Africa, although housing is more expensive in central cities and popular tourist areas.

😀 Are you a keen cyclist and want to know how cycling is featured in Spain?

Well, cycling is a big sport as well as a popular recreational event, especially during weekends. Cycling has been an important sport in Spain since the 1940s. The Vuelta a España (Spanish for "Tour of Spain") is one of the most important cycling events in the world, together with the Tour de France (French for "Tour of France") and Giro d'Italia (Italian for "Tour of Italy") racing tournaments.

Several Spanish cycling athletes have won the Tour de France, including Federico Bahamontes, Luis Ocaña, Pedro Delgado, Óscar Pereiro, Alberto Contador, and Carlos Sastre. The most successful Spanish cyclist is Miguel Indurain.

He won the Tour de France in five consecutive years between 1991 and 1995. He also won the Giro d'Italia in two consecutive years (1992 and 1993), the 1995 Road World Championship time trial and the gold medal in the 1996 Olympic time trial.

For recreational purposes very few countries can compete as it is the ideal way to explore the lovely countryside as well as the secluded areas within the towns and villages. In Marbella for instance one can hire bicycles for almost nothing which makes it an ideal family activity.

🙋🏼‍♂️ Wanting to find a new job or career with security and growth in mind? Then I recommend Barcelona🇪🇸

Let us look at Barcelona and some info on this fabulous Spanish city😀

The Barcelona metropolitan area comprises over 66% of the people of Catalonia, one of the richer regions in Europe and the fourth richest region per capita in Spain, with a GDP per capita amounting to €28,400 (16% more than the EU average).

The greater Barcelona metropolitan area had a GDP amounting to $177 billion in per capita terms, 44% more than the EU average. This makes Barcelona the 4th most economically powerful city by gross GDP in the European Union.

Barcelona city had a very high GDP of €80,894 per head in 2004, according to Eurostat. Unfortunately I could not get the updated info from the Spanish Department of Statistics.

Furthermore, Barcelona was Europe's 4th best business city and fastest improving European city, with growth improved by 17% year on year. This fabulously lends it towards finding and building a new career in Spain😀

😀 Good day friends

Today we visit the Spanish town called Fuengirola, situated on the Costa del Sol.

In the 1960s Fuengirola started to become a leading tourist centre, eventually having the expected facilities for eating, sleeping, and entertainment. The town has broad beaches along a promenade extending east and west from the town, that includes smaller adjacent villages.

Of the approximately 72,000 permanent inhabitants registered in the municipality, 25% come from other countries, mainly European (England, Ireland, Scotland, Finland and Sweden, among others), and also from Morocco and Argentina.

In the summer especially, the town plays host to throngs of visitors both Spanish and foreign, but in particular British. The English-speaking community in particular is large enough to support a fully developed programme of activities and local groups. Schools where English are taught are well established.

There is a zoo, known as Bioparc Fuengirola since 2010, which was modernized in 2001 to feature "tropical-forest" dwellings. The zoo specializes in captive breeding for endangered species, chimpanzee-group research and tropical-forest education. It has a series of natural habitats for different species.

Fuengirola has a number of historical sites and open parks. The old port is still used by the local Spanish fisherman. The Arab castle of Suhayl, or Suhail, remained an abandoned ruin until renovations began in 1995. In 2000 the interior of the castle was completely renovated and the Suhail castle began to host festivals and concerts throughout the summer. Additional landscaping was completed in 2002.

The town is largely urban in character, with many high-rise blocks of flats near the seafront and elsewhere. There are some narrow streets with many low-rise villas. Considerable commercial and housing development is underway further inland and offer good economic growth and job opporunities.

🙋🏼‍♂️Hello friends

Have you ever heard of a city in Spain called Ronda?

Well, here is some interesting info😀

Ronda is a village in the Spanish province of Málaga. It is located about 105 km west of the city of Málaga, within the autonomous community of Andalusia and with a population of about 35,000 inhabitants.

Ronda is now also one of the towns and villages that is included in the Sierra de las Nieves National Park. Around the city one can find remains of prehistoric settlements dating back to the Neolithic Age, including the rock paintings of Cueva de la Pileta.

Now everyone know Spain is famous for its bullfighting. Ronda contributed significantly towards the development of bullfighting as we know it today. Ronda's Romero family—from Francisco, born in 1698, to his son Juan, to his famous grandson Pedro, who died in 1839—played a principal role in the development of modern Spanish bullfighting.

Ronda is also famous for three bridges, Puente Romano ("Roman Bridge"), Puente Viejo ("Old Bridge"), and Puente Nuevo ("New Bridge"), which span the canyon. The term nuevo is something of a misnomer, as the building of this bridge commenced in 1751 and took until 1793 to complete🤔

The Puente Nuevo and featured in the attached pictures, is the tallest of the bridges, towering 120 m above the canyon floor. All three bridges serve as some of the city's most impressive features and contribute towards the popularity of the city.

29/01/2020

🙋🏼‍♂️ Good day all you wonderful people😀

Today we learn more about the Palacio de Cristal or more commonly known as the “Glass Palace" of Madrid.

The Palacio is a conservatory located in Madrid's Buen Retiro Park. It was built in 1887 on the occasion of the Exposition of the Philippines, held in that same year, which was then a Spanish colonial possession. The architect of the building was Ricardo Velázquez Bosco.

The Palacio de Cristal is in the shape of a Greek cross and made almost entirely of glass, set in an iron framework on a brick base, which then is decorated with ceramics. Its cupola makes the structure over 22 metres high 😀

When it was erected, glass and iron construction on a large scale was already to be seen in Madrid at the Delicias station (1880), which was the work of a French architect.

However the curved architecture of the Palacio de Cristal is more comparable to the techniques pioneered by the British architects Joseph Paxton (who was responsible for London's Crystal Palace) and Decimus Burton (who was responsible for the Palm House at Kew Gardens).

The cast-iron frame was manufactured in Bilbao. The structure was designed in a way that would allow it to be re-erected on another site (as happened to the equivalent building in London).

However, the building has remained on the original site, next to a lake, and has been restored to its original appearance. It is no longer used as a greenhouse, and is currently used for art exhibits.

😎Quite magnificent don’t you agree?

If you want to know more on what Spain offers or more on the wonders within the borders of this lovely country, keep an eye on future posts.

😀We would really love it if you can promote and share our page. Please let us know if there are any particular topics you would like to find out more about😀
