In 1976 the agency was solely owned by King and Sons and became part of the Grindrod Group - the name was therefore changed to Grindrod King Travel. In March 1993 the company acquired a larger agency with a stronger brand - Jet International. In 2006 the decision was taken to change the name to Grindrod Travel to align with the Grindrod Group's brand marketing strategy.
