Hermanus Whale Festival
Date: 27 - 29 September 2024
It’s the high point of whale-watching season (celebrating 33 years this year), when the whole town comes alive in festival mode – from street parades to a live music stage at Gearings Point, arts and crafts tents, food and wine, a strongman competition and other sports events, plus loads of kids activities. At the heart of the festival (besides the whales playing their part in the waves offshore) is the Eco-Marine Tent, with a wide range of environmental exhibits including colourful, interactive ocean displays, films and talks by marine biologists and experts.
With an estimated 75,000 to 130,000 visitors each year, the Hermanus Whale Festival is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves nature and adventure.

The southern right’s epic annual migration is a spectacle not to be missed.

Every year, between June and November, southern right whales journey to our shores to mate and calve, giving us the awe-inspiring opportunity to watch them blow, breach and belly-flop. Sometimes they arrive earlier and stay later, with prime whale-watching season peaking between August and October. Calving normally takes place in August and September, but can happen as early as July.

The whales are in town! Grab your binoculars, and witness these gentle giants as they make our ocean their home for the next few months.

The South African display at the Chelsea flower show in all its glory, thank you to my fantastic team, The Cape Floral Kingdom is something we as South Africans need to celebrate and conserve. Its an honour to win “best on show” as well the as “best new design” award at this years show. 🇿🇦

Absolutely speechless, our South African display has not only won a Gold medal but “Best exhibit in the Great Pavilion” as well as “The Best New Design” award at this year’s RHS Chelsea flower show. Words cant describe how proud we are as a team. More photos and an official media release will be made soon. 🇿🇦
