Nyala Safari Lodge is home to some marvelous trees, including one of our guests' all-time favourites - the mighty baobab - Adansonia digitata. This particular specimen is still small in baobab terms at only around 150 years old. Baobabs grow extremely slowly and a rule of thumb when assessing their age is to add 100 years for every metre in circumference.

Adorable hyaena cub wants to play

When you're on safari in the Greater Kruger National Park with us, there's no telling what you are going to see! Guests at eKhaya Bush Villa shared this lovely video they took on a game drive of a spotted hyaena clan resting outside their den. But this little cub just wanted to play! Full of energy like most young children, it decided to pester a family member instead of taking a nap!

Supper time for Kruger's lions

We love it when our guests have the opportunity to view predators at close quarters, especially lions! So when we see videos like this of lions feeding on a buffalo carcass, we feel privileged to have given our guests the chance to see lions in the wild and behaving as nature intended. A kill is never pretty, but witnessing one does put things into perspective and give you a glimpse of just how majestic these incredible animals are and how that fabled "circle of life" actually works.
