Our amazing Mom, your Nthaba Moya super host, lost her courageous fight with cancer on Saturday night. We are heartbroken but at peace that she is now free from the bounds of her broken body and flying high. She will forever shine down on her little slice of heaven that she shared with us all. Nthaba Moya will not be taking bookings for a little while and we apologise for messages and enquiries that may go unanswered. Thank you for your support.

A recent sighting of this sweet little Lovebird that has taken up residence near Nthaba Moya Cottage - far from its usual distribution area. It's been around for a while now and is often seen flitting across the farm and surrounds.

Our Story

Situated right at the top of the D735 (3km off the Curry's Post Road, 17km from Howick), with far-reaching views towards the Drakensberg and Maluti mountains, The Cottage at Nthaba Moya offers an outstanding self-catering experience for Midlands wedding guests, sports enthusiasts and families.

Newly built and furnished to a high standard, the Cottage sleeps up to six people with amenities including full DSTV & wifi - although you're likely to be sitting outside on the stoep, sundowner in hand, or star-gazing from the logged braai area.

The space

Accommodation comprises two double en-suite bedrooms, which open to the wide verandah that runs the length of the building. Choose whether to have the larger bedroom made up as twin beds or a king. For extra guests, the sofa in the living room converts into a comfortable high-density foam sofa-bed.

The fully-kitted kitchen includes a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and large fridge-freezer. The kitchen is open plan into the dining room & living room and when the mist rolls in, there is a full DSTV service, wifi and a wood-burning fireplace.

The cottage has its own large undeveloped garden within an electrified fenced area. It’s ideal for children’s games and there is a logged braai area - dine alfresco during the day and marvel at the view, or at night under the magnificence of the Milky Way.

Guests are welcome to walk the 20-hectare property, although please take care not to get too close to the resident blesbok. The rescue donkeys appreciate carrots! We can organise a "hands-on farm experience" for children, which includes milking a cow, collecting eggs and a tractor ride, please enquire on booking.

Nthaba Moya, which means ‘wind on the mountain’ in Zulu, is home to blesbok, rescue donkeys and a variety of visiting jackal, porcupines, serval & caracal cats and many birds.
